happen, to embracing all that is. My intention with these words was to capture the frustration of a young version of myself, who felt as though she needed to mould herself, not only to the system she experienced growing up, but the system that she found herself in through personal development. The never-ending race to be whole, to be healed, to be successful, to be perfect, to make it happen. Pathways with no destination.
This is not to say that these spaces are “bad” and instead open to the idea that it’s important to be intentional with the way we create these spaces. Reminding the individual that has stepped into this world, that we are not their source of wisdom and rather a reflection of it. That they have the autonomy to let go of anything that we say, that doesn’t truly resonate with them. These words are for you if you’ve also known a similar experience in your life.

I always made things happen
The magic inside of a dragon
Still playing out old patterns
An addict to The Law of Attraction
I didn’t want anything to dampen
I didn’t want to feel my emotion
I didn’t want to drown in commotion
Supposin’
We’re all running around trying to fix ourselves
Looking to the outside for relief
Thinking our own inner voice has forgotten how to speak
Maybe someone else’s words will please
The longing that exists in me
To be somewhere other than where I am
Where we’re busy making dreams
The bandaids to our wounds
Trying hard to attune
So a new life can be here soon
It’s like a carrot on a stick
This way of being will never quite hit the spot
Because you’ll always find something wrong
When what you see with your eyes
Becomes more important than the knowing that’s inside
Becomes more important than realising that you are already what you seek
Don’t get me wrong, it’s okay to take a peak
At the futures that are instore
To feel excited for what could unfold
But a little voice will always gnaw at your heart
When you’re constantly trying to find
Something that is physical to ease your mind
Something that is tangible to confirm your faith
Something to end the wait
How we’re easily attracted to the bait on a hook
Forgotten how to look
How to listen
To guidance outside of the system
How we’ve forgotten our divinity
That we’re the co-creators of synchronicity
Equanimity
Brilliancy
To be in harmony
That we are nature
That our inner life is the saviour
I’d wager
That you already know the answers
To the questions you ask
You already know the task
To experience this world
Your already the dreams of the young girl
Or boy
You already know what is true
Only forgotten what you once knew
So, don’t get in the que
Where others tell you what you should do
Choose a path lit by the few
Who explore with curiosity
Don’t bleed to this monstrosity
That “they” have everything you need
Remember, you are what you seek
And others can only guide
How deep you wish to dive
Don’t put your power outside
Because you’ve been told you need to hide
Let these words remind
That you are already whole
That your guidance lives in your soul
And another’s only role
Is to hold the space for all of you to unfold
