I feel like I’m living a life that’s not mine

Caught between a million timelines
Can I find my way back home?
To the place inside I never feel alone
I’m afraid to share how I feel because I can’t moan
I can’t put my woes on another
Little me, she’d prefer to hide under the covers
She didn’t want to be a burden
Didn’t think she was deserving
Too immersed in what she could feel inside
Over what she could see with her eyes
It didn’t make sense to her mind
When she didn’t know herself as a light of the divine
So she turned a blind eye
Would tell a lie to fit in
Be who everyone else wanted her to be
Because, surely, you’d be mad to believe in something you couldn’t even see
Oh, all the judgements she held herself a prisoner to
All the walls she built
To protect the image she created
As in this shadow
The flower of her essence began to wilt away
Back to The Earth
Until one day
She’d remember that all of her deserved
To be seen and heard
And then that flower could bloom again
Because she could no longer pretend
To be anything other than who she was
Now, nothing can stop her shining her light
Ending this inner fight
As she saw that everything about her she thought was wrong
Was everything she’d been seeking all along
Only then, to find
It was patiently waiting for her in front of her eyes
Never somewhere out of sight
Just a little deeper on the inside
with love,
Emma
