Current Time.

"Life is what happens when you're busy making other plans." This quote is often attributed to John Lennon, but it reflects my life in many ways.

This week, I was forced to pause. I couldn’t resist or do anything—I just crashed and spent almost the entire week in bed. I was sicker than I had been in a long time. I felt like I needed to sleep constantly, and my eyes closed against my will; I just couldn’t control it.

I couldn’t stop thinking about my task list; each day that passed meant more to do in less time. My mind couldn’t rest for a moment. I missed two conferences I had been looking forward to for a while, which directly impacted my income. Since I’m self-employed, nobody covers my sick days except me, so my stress levels skyrocketed, likely making me even weaker than I already was.

We’re useless without our bodies being healthy and functioning well. Yet, we only acknowledge that when we’re not feeling well. The rest of the time, we’re on autopilot, not thinking about it at all. We just live in cycles of days, weeks, months, and years.

My entire schedule has been messed up, and I’m behind on the stories I planned to post this week. Since I couldn’t concentrate well, I only posted podcasts I’d already created and fewer updates than usual. For those of you who sensed something different, you have sharp instincts! These podcasts are a nice addition or effective backup in our tech-driven world, but they’ll never replace my words and my stories.

I’m still new to this relationship with you, so I’m not exactly sure how to connect. The analytics indicate that most of you prefer reading over listening to podcasts. Some days, you visit more often, while on others, you don’t come at all. You read me from 19 US states and 15 countries. On some days, the number of subscribers increases; on others, it decreases. It makes me happy to see you come; it makes me sad to see you walk away. That’s the effect of dopamine, isn’t it?

I wish I knew what catches your attention in my stories. Is it like falling in love? What made you click on subscribe? What made you connect with me? Is it my writing style or the stories themselves? Millions of readers are out there, but I want to get to know you. So tell me more about who you are and why you’re here. No matter how far away you are, these words have brought us closer. So tell me more about yourself as I share my life story with you.

Listening to Mark and Samantha’s insights about my show has given me new perspectives on how people interact with what I do. I wish The Liat Show were my day job. I wish I could make a living from it and grow The Liat Show into a national and global educational show: Education through Entertainment.

Please fasten your seatbelts and subscribe. We are taking off.

The next chapter is already being written. Those who are here early will remember how it began.

Follow me on My Journey to Infinity. What’s coming next is beyond anything you imagined.

Liat

I weave together episodes from my life with the richness of Israeli and American culture through music, food, the arts, architecture, fiction, wellness, entertainment, education, science, technology, entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, supply chain, and more. I write on weekends and evenings and share each episode as it unfolds, almost like a live performance.

Most of what I publish is part of a set or multi-part series focused on one topic. Each set comes out over several days, making it easier to follow during your busy workday. If one episode speaks to you, it’s worth reading the complete set to follow my life story and how it connects to the history and future of my timeline.

You can also start from the very beginning or explore the complete index here: Index of The Liat Show. This post best explains how I began this approach: Making My Parents Proud, One Episode at a Time.

The Liat Show is rebuilding our world through storytelling, powered by readers. To receive new posts first and support my work, join as a free or paid subscriber and stay ahead of the next chapter before the door closes.
