Some people are losing their minds over what’s happening in Venezuela. Team Trump is interested in oil. However, Venezuela has been ground zero for multiple bad actors in recent years. China, Russia, Iran, and Cuba all have their nose in Venezuela. While the U.S. is blowing up narco boats in the Caribbean, it’s difficult to see Americans having sympathy for the deaths of drug dealers ruining lives, families, and communities in America. A response was long overdue. Members of the U.S. House and Senate barking about “illegal orders” need to be far more consistent in applying that rule. We’ve had all kinds of military activity—from both parties—without the approval of Congress.
Stew Peters of Stew Peters Television had an ignorant response to Mike Huckabee, the U.S. ambassador to Israel. Huckabee did an interview in late November. Peters called Huckabee a heretic for defending Christianity’s connection to Judaism. It’s a theologically and historically illiterate response to an issue of more and more Christians having issues with Israel and it showing up in various situation.
Pope Leo XIV took his first trip as pope to Turkey and Lebanon. In Lebanon, he did normal pope things: talk about peace in the Middle East. In Turkey, he celebrated the 1,700th anniversary of the Council of Nicea by talking about unity among the world’s 2.6 billion Christians. Some reports went so far as to include Muslims in the unity. Peace with other religions isn’t a trademark of Islam. Imams of mosques in the U.S. continue to call for the “death to America” and a revolution that replaces our constititional republic with sharia law. No! Never!
