Hello and good morning, friends. How are you?

To settle into this new month, we’re talking about something that I think is a really special feature of meditation practice: beginning again. We do it every time we wander away from the breath and come back. We do it every time we even sit down to meditate.

I hear often about people being “bad” at meditation and something happens where trying again feels impossible. I know I’ve said it so many times here, but just showing up is what matters: showing up to meditate, showing back up when you wander off in distractions. There is no good or bad. There’s no need for judgment. You can rest in knowing that beginning again is possible any time.

So if you’ve been away from meditation or maybe there’s something else in your life that you’d like to begin again, I hope our time together today inspires you to be open to what it can feel like to start and restart however many times you need.
