A series of recordings from a protest walk on Moscar Moor on August 10th 2025, organised by Reclaim Our Moors, a group of largely South Yorkshire and Derbyshire residents working to bring local grouse moors into community ownership.
You can listen to this 35 minute episode by clicking play above or by heading over to Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
On this podcast you’ll hear from Jemima, one of the organisers of the walk, short statements from some of the walkers, folk music from guitarist Ray Clutterbuck, and longer speeches from local ecologist David ‘Botch’ Botcherby of the Merry Earth Collective, from Sarah of Parents For Future Sheffield, and from Protect the Wild’s Charlie Moores.
The podcast begins with Maggie, another of Reclaim Our Moors’ organisers, and her ‘Thought for the Day’ style reflection that was played several times on the morning of the walk on Radio Sheffield.
Incidentally, the recordings on the Moor are all ‘live’. Have a listen and see how many bird species you can pick out in the background…
