Michael Peppers, Chief Audit Executive for The University of Texas System. Peppers, the most recent Chair of the Institute of Internal Auditors, recently worked on the historic project to evolve the Global Internal Audit Standards. The new standards were released on January 9, 2024 and will become effective January 9, 2025.
Having served as the Chair of The IIA’s Global Board in 2017, and inducted into The IIA’s American Hall of Distinguished Audit Practitioners in 2019, Peppers brought deep technical knowledge and a track record of service to the role. He currently serves as the representative to the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO) Board of Directors.
