In today's church landscape, there are three prevailing approaches to addressing sinners. The first church, influenced by modern liberalism, opens its doors wide, welcoming sinners without calling them to repentance. The second church, steeped in legalism, refuses entry to those who have not yet cleaned up their lives. The third church, however, follows the biblical model exemplified by Jesus Christ: it welcomes sinners with the understanding that true transformation is not optional but essential, and this transformation is accomplished through the power of the gospel and obedience to the Word.
