Have you ever pondered why the end of a journey often feels more rewarding than the beginning? In the Bible, the notion that "the end of a thing is better than the beginning" is highlighted in Ecclesiastes 7:8: "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit." This wisdom serves as a reminder of the importance of perseverance and faithfulness throughout one's life. As believers, while the initial excitement of beginning a journey with Christ through baptism is significant, the culmination of a life lived in faith is far greater. This concept is vividly illustrated in the life of King Asa, a ruler whose reign began with great promise but ended in spiritual decline.
