Virginia’s electoral surrender:
Governor Abigail Spanberger, the ex glow in the dark CIA agent, now premier tyrannical monstrosity just signed HB965, handing Virginia’s presidential electors to the national popular vote mob. Your red landslide in the Old Dominion? Nullified.
The Founders’ precious little firewall against big state tyranny? Up in smoke. Torched. Gone. Democracy conquered by the Governor’s pen. Another one of those “Who would do that moments”.
Election nullification by bureaucratic fiat. Another slick shell game where the house always wins, the dice are loaded, and the flyover rubes get their voices auctioned off to the highest bidder in the back room. Virginians oughta be furious. Or maybe they support mob rule. Hell they voted for this power hungry freak.
Once the mob takes over, your vote is merely a party favor. Fortunately this doesn’t get them to the steal the election finish line just yet. Virginia agrees to award its 13 electoral votes to the candidate who wins the national popular vote across all 50 states + D.C. But this only kicks in once participating states reach a majority (270 electoral votes).
Currently, with Virginia, the compact has 222 votes pledged....still short, so nothing changes for the next election yet. Until then, Virginia’s electors continue to follow the state’s winner take all rule. So the full blown election meddling can be overturned once Spanberger is jettisoned out of office. Fortunately Spanberger’s bark is worse than her bite. Of the more than 50 bills proposing new or higher taxes by her and her Democrat cohorts. Including things like taxes on dog walking, dry cleaning, vehicle repairs, fantasy sports, expanding the sales tax to services, and higher income tax rates on high earners. They all died in committee or were never voted on.
But its the It’s hubris that counts. Spanberger is a new kind of Republic usurper. She does it right out in the open.
