Let me tell you the truth most self-help “experts” won’t: you do not have to move mountains overnight, overhaul your entire life in a weekend, or summon the energy of a thousand ancestors before breakfast. You’re not a machine. And you’re not failing just because you can’t keep up with the relentless pressure to be “all-new, all-improved” by Monday.
What I’ve learned, and what I preach to every overworked, overwhelmed woman who sits across from me—virtually or in person—is this: you only need to make a 1% change daily. That tiny shift, that one new decision today, is powerful enough to turn your life in a whole new direction. Not someday. Right now. Consistently.
Collectively, those 1% shifts will start to stack and before you know it, your reality looks and feels entirely different.
You don’t have to crash and burn just to rebuild. You don’t need permission or perfect circumstances. You only need your next right move, no matter how small it feels.
This is your formal invitation to opt out of overwhelm and sink into a new rhythm: steady, sustainable growth. One small shift at a time. Are you willing to give yourself permission to try it? Because trust me, I’ve seen it. I’ve lived it. And I am here to walk that journey with you.
End Burnout with Small Shifts with Kofi Williams
Kofi Williams joins me for a powerful and practical conversation about breaking the burnout cycle with small, intentional shifts. We get real about what burnout feels like, why the formula for life doesn’t work for so many of us, and how Black women can claim more balance, boundaries, and unapologetic self-prioritization, one doable step at a time.
Episode Highlights
* Kofi Williams reveals her own story of caregiver burnout and the dark place it took her before she was willing to ask for help.
* We talk about how simply shifting your mindset or actions can feel less intimidating than trying to “transform” everything overnight.
* The absolute importance of being seen and represented in your healing journey, as Samantha Gregory shares her search for a Black woman therapist.
* Why it’s so hard for the eldest daughters (and high-responsibility women) to ask for support and how that feeds burnout.
* Kofi Williams’s framework of “life shifts”: small, repeatable changes that create momentum and actually move you forward.
* The power of clarity, honesty, and asking yourself what *you* want when your titles, roles, or routines fall away.
* How changing your thinking is the starting point for lasting change, not just new habits, but a new direction for your life.
* Three reflection questions to get unstuck and move into your first small life shift, plus why there’s no reason to wait.
