Description

My guest today is Yotam Schachter. Yotam is the founder of Presence Tree Leadership, where he provides guidance and grounding for change-makers. I cannot think of a better name for his work than Presence Tree. Just as trees are deeply rooted and connected to the earth, while also growing upwards toward the light, so too does Yotam do that in his own life while helping others find that in themselves.

In this episode, Yotam and I work to deepen the definitions of masculinity and masculine energy. Much of what it is to be a male-identifying human in our day and age is to be a person who actively represses emotions for fear of being rejected, exiled, or eradicated.

We explore how this emotional repression inevitably leads to their expression in unconscious and often violent ways. This repression is one of the roots of police brutality and systemic racism, and until we face it, we will be ruled by it. But there is a strength beyond our fear. We imagine what might be possible when we tap into that strength; when we stop being so afraid and start getting in touch with what we truly stand for.
