Hey MAGAs, let’s be honest about what’s been happening this week in Los Angeles: this is your fault.
This whole crisis exists because on the campaign trail, Trump promised you mass deportations, knowing that would swell your loins and tickle your racist fancies. He ran on a bigot’s fever dream of driving out tens of millions of supposed “illegals,” and that was all you needed to hear.
The problem is, of course, is that he lacks a qualified Cabinet, an adult human attention span, and any kind of plan to vet millions of cases. That kind of highly detailed administrative and organizational strategy requiring complex coordination across multiple agencies and every state in the nation? Well, let’s just say that’s not what Donnie and his cadre of grifters and traitors are built for.
Like his “concept” of a healthcare plan, his vow to end the Russian War on Ukraine “on day one", and his promise to lower egg prices, a mass deportation was doomed to be another in a growing list of unkept promises.
So, he sent his masked I.C.E. goons into communities throughout this country indiscriminately rounding up people: no warrants, no probable cause, no due process—just brute force shock and awe in America’s neighborhoods, carpool lines, shopping centers, and graduation ceremonies.
A bunch of largely unidentified poster boys for toxic masculinity and unrepentant racism have spent the past two months cosplaying super soldiers by smashing windows, invading homes, abducting students, hauling away fathers, and essentially preying upon anyone they decide deserves to be cuffed, beaten, and detained—which usually comes down to pigmentation.
And then, they showed up in LA. They fucked around, and they found out.
I.C.E agents discovered what happens when a diverse and mutually invested community refuses to be bullied by amoral mercenaries working for a lawless wannabe king. And that wannabe king found out that California Governor Gavin Newsom wasn’t going to bend the knee and fall prostrate before him.
And instead of ceasing their ill-prepared, illegal, and unnecessarily violent assault in the Los Angeles community, they doubled down. More dollar store stormtroopers showed up, littering people with tear gas and rubber bullets. Ordinary, unarmed people were beaten, bloodied, arrested, and taken away.
And in the wake of this incessant and wasteful abuse of power, the people of this city were pushed to defend themselves from violence created, delivered, and exacerbated by a sitting president. They stepped in and protected one another from a heavily-armed outside threat, and Trump answered by sending in the Marines to keep a peace that he disturbed to begin with.
So, Trump supporters, this is on you. You were so filled with contempt for immigrants and so saturated with white supremacy that you voted on a grandiose promise that he could never possibly keep without throwing out the Constitution and every human and civil right and going full-on thuggery, which is where we are.
I imagine you’ll try to spin reality, but the entire world sees what’s going on: your MAGA king painted himself into a corner during the campaign all to win your allegiance and your vote, and now to pay you back, he’s resorted to terrorizing millions of people and blaming them for the chaos.Well done.
