Hebrews 11:35, "Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection"
What is a better resurrection? Elisha the prophet raised a young boy from the dead in the Old Testament. No doubt this boy grew up, became a man, but he still had to die again one day. There were people that the Lord Jesus raised from the dead like Lazarus. They still had to die again, though.
What is a better resurrection than these? It is a resurrection where we are given a new glorified body that can never die again. This is the kind of body that the Lord Jesus has right now. It is a glorified, resurrection body. We will one day get a body like his in the "better" resurrection that is coming. Philippians 3:21.
Heavenly Father, I am looking forward to having a new body that will not be affected by sickness, or disease, or by death. I am looking forward to being with you, Lord, and living forever in your presence, oh Lord. Return to us quickly, Lord Jesus. Amen.
