Philippians 3:10, "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead."
Paul's goal was to know the Lord Jesus Christ. He wanted to know Christ in the power of his resurrection, and also in the fellowship of his sufferings. He wanted to walk in the same Calvary road that led Jesus to his death on the cross. Paul knew by revelation that the way to resurrection is through the death.
The Lord Jesus died for us. God the Father places us into his Son, and counts the death of Jesus as our own death. Now that we have died in Christ we will not face eternity separated from our heavenly Father. We have been reconciled through the blood of Jesus. Colossians 1:14.
Heavenly Father, I thank you for allowing me to partake in the fellowship of his sufferings by serving others and giving my life away. I want to lose my life here so that I may gain the true life in Christ. I surrender my life to serving you by ministering to others the gospel of Jesus Christ. I dedicate my life to you completely and totally. My life is in your hands, heavenly Father. Help me to not be moved away from this commitment. Please deliver me from every lie of the devil that would turn me aside from giving up my life. Amen.
