Psalms 89:48, "What man is he that liveth, and shall not see death? Shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? Selah."
Again, we see the Bible teaches us the certainty of death. It is of utmost important that we consider the end of our life so that we can prepare for eternity. Don't just live for the moment. Don't devote yourself to this temporary life with all of its fleeting pleasures. The pleasures of self worship are temporary. It doesn't last. It passes away. Invest your life now in what will last for eternity, instead.
Moses taught us that this life is fleeting and temporary, and that we should use this time to apply our heart to wisdom and understanding. Read Psalm 90.
Heavenly Father, help me to live in view of eternity, and not to waste my life on what is temporary and passing away. Help me to grow and increase in the knowledge of God. Help me to be faithful every day to reach out to others with the good news of salvation through Jesus. Amen.
