James 5:14, "Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord"
One of the tasks that a church elder should perform is praying for people who are sick in the church. Perhaps this is where the ministry of visiting hospitals by Pastors came from?
If you are sick today have you asked for the elders to anoint you in the name of the Lord? Have you requested prayer from people in your church? God still heals people today. Psalm 103:2, "...forget not all his benefits...".
Thank you, Father God, for making provision for your people to be healed. I pray that the elders will have the faith to pray for the sick that they may recover. I pray the people in the church will not forget that you do heal and save and deliver when we pray and believe in you. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
