Acts 13:33-34, "God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee. 34, And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David."
The Lord prophesied in Psalm chapter 2 that Jesus would be his Son, and that he would raise Jesus from the dead. This is called the sure mercies of David.
Many of the Psalms are filled with prophecy about the Lord Jesus Christ. Psalm 22 gives a graphic description of the crucifixion and death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus.
Heavenly Father, from beginning to end your Word declares the Lord Jesus Christ is your Son. Lord, the Bible is the story of your plan to save us from sin through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Thank you, Lord, for the gospel. Thank you for what you have done to save us. Amen.
