1 Peter 1:3, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead"
Our hope is not dead; it is alive. What does it mean to have a living hope? Our hope is not in man-made systems, philosophies, or doctrines. Our hope is in a person, the Son of God, Jesus Christ. He is risen from the dead. He is alive. He will return very soon and take us to be with him where he is.
We are born again by the Holy Spirit. We have been given new life through faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. John 3:3; Ephesians 2:1.
Father God, thank you for giving me a living hope today. Thank you for giving me new life by the power of the Holy Spirit. Lord, wash me this day in your precious blood, cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me, oh Lord. Thank you for giving me eternal life. Thank you for this living hope, in Jesus name. Amen.
