Colossians 3:23-24, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24, Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ."
We are not working for men; we are not working for this world. We are working for the Lord. No matter what kind of work we do: it is for the Lord. Our work is for the Lord; our reward will be from the Lord as well.
Working for the Lord will bring a reward in due time. Don't get weary in the work of the Lord. Our labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Timothy 5:18; Galatians 6:9; 1 Corinthians 15:58; Hebrews 6:10.
Father God, help me to keep in view the reward of the inheritance so that I don't become discouraged and slack off. It is so easy to forget that I am working for you, and that you are the one who rewards me for all of my work and efforts. Help me, Lord, to remember that I am working for an eternal inheritance, and to keep my eyes focused on the joy that is set before me. In Jesus name. Amen.
