Luke 24:46, "And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:"
Prophecy foretold the Christ would suffer, die for our sins, and be raised again from the dead. These prophecies are in the book of Psalms, in Isaiah, and also depicted in stories like Abraham sacrificing his only son Isaac and then receiving him back from the dead in a figure.
The heart of our faith is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Old Testament pointed forward to this, and the New Testament looks back on this account. Our faith rests on these historical facts about the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4.
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your word. I thank you that you revealed what would happen before it happened, so that when it happened men would believe. Lord, I believe in the testimony of the bible, that Christ died for my sins, he was buried, and he rose again on the third day. Amen.
