Matthew 13:54, "And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this man this wisdom, and these mighty works?"
They did not know where the Lord Jesus received his wisdom or his spiritual authority. He did not follow the route of other religious people in his day to go through an indoctrination or training system to be approved by man. Instead, he received his wisdom and authority directly from heaven, from the Father.
Jesus rejoiced in spirit and thanked the heavenly Father that he had hidden these things from the wise and prudent and instead revealed them to babes. Luke 10:21.
Heavenly Father, I thank you that you reveal yourself to those who are humble. The Lord Jesus rejoiced that you revealed yourself to those he called babes. Lord, you are high and lifted up, but you are also with the man who is lowly and of a contrite heart. Thank you, Father God, for having mercy on me, for seeking me out, for finding me, and for adopting me into your family. I love you, Lord. Amen.
