Today we will continue the series that will lead us to the philosophical background that drives our professorship today. You’ll recall in episode 66, we discussed the congress of Vienna and a new landscape which created Marxism. This all started with podcast #61, which was about western culture in general so if you are just jumping in, you’ll want to revisit those episodes as well. Today, we will examine the emerging American Academic scene as well as the end of the Victorian era in Europe and the brewing of WWI. For reference this will be from 1871 until about 1913. Eventually this will help us decipher the background of the Crime of the Century.
