What a miraculous gift, to have a Full Moon in Leo on Brigid’s Feast day. This feels like such a gift from the Ancestors, a smile on their face + a wink in their eye. What could possibly be held within this moment, so full of Fire + potential? Perhaps it is an invitation to consider how we might use this creative energy we’ve been gifted, to birth a world into being.
Imbolc/Imbolg translates to ‘in the belly’. It is a symbol of gestation, that something is growing deep inside of our bodies as emanations of the Earth. Full of creative potential, we are invited to consider how we might use this fire of vision to birth the world we dream of.
The Full Moon will peak at 5:08pm EST on Feb 1st, 2026 ~ Imbolc Day! Go outside and see it if you can!
Tonight, on Imbolc eve, I’ll be making a Brigid’s cross from the stalks of dried cattails on our land, and finding a special cloth to leave in the Black Walnut tree outside for Brigid to anoint with her healing energies. I will keep the cross over our door for the year to come, and place the cloth on my altar, only to be used when my beloveds or myself are in need of healing. <3
Tomorrow, as the Full Moon peaks in Leo on Imbolc Day, I plan to hold a ritual in honor of this big beautiful occasion, celebrating Brigid and holding a fire outside in the snow, under the Full Moon light. I love to think that so many of us will be connecting our altars under this potent energy, with the Celtic Ancestors at our back in celebration. Whatever may come this next year, my friends, may you remember you are protected by such big, fierce ancient forces ~ the Land, the deities, and your beloved Ancestors. Enjoy!
