My friends, wow. We have FINALLY made it to the long-awaited threshold; the end of eclipse season, retrogrades, general time-bending chaos. I cannot think of a more generous gift than to be greeted by the soft, sweet Spirit of Libra. The Full Moon in Libra peaks at 8:22pm EST on Saturday April 12th, within HOURS of Venus (her planetary ruler) stationing direct in Pisces. This is the Return of Love. This is the remembrance of what is essential.
As painful and disorienting as it’s been, I do believe there was some sort of hidden intelligence to being put through such a pressure cooker of a March. What a month. Ten thousand timelines traversed, so many layers of the self peeled back + cooked to the core.
And what do you have to show for it? Hopefully, a better sense of what you care about. What truly matters. What is ESSENTIAL within you; truly of your essence. That unshakeable heartstone that keeps you going. A quartz in the clock of your life, finding right pace. Your Utter Aliveness.
Libra / Venus is the balm to Mars / Aries. It is the softener, the tender voice that questions whether conflict must ever actually be violent. The one who teaches us to seek beyond polarization, beyond either/or thinking, and remember that there is likely always room for both/and.
There is a skillfulness to this; a willingness to hold multiple realities at once. It no longer becomes about what is being weighed on either side of the scales, but the thing that holds them together. That pillar of a sword, standing perfectly balanced on its tipm finding center. This is the Truth Libra reminds us of, and it is so often a truth rooted in love; rooted in the Heart.
What if the Heart is a Sword?
Mars teaches us about swords that cut and carve away, that individuate as proof of the efficacy of our personal Will. We must learn this skill. But what then? How do we find needle and thread, to stitch it back together again?
This is the work of Venus. This is the balm that creates connection where there has been rupture, that seeks collaboration as an act of humanity. That teaches us to put down the swords of violence, and remember the sword of the Heart, that balances all truths at its perfect center; Love. Unity. Connection. Harmony.
This is an advanced skill, because it requires our Utter Humanity. It asks that we take off the armor that has kept us so well protected, so indominably individual. It asks that we see ourselves in the strife of another, and in their desire. The vulnerability of admitting that we want the same thing; to feel safe, to be loved.
When I look at the world lately, and all of its horrors, I see a world that has forgotten this essential truth. And I wonder, in somewhat unrealistic ways, what it would take to return to the Heart in such a way that would remind us of our humanity. Perhaps we’re too far gone. Perhaps I won’t see it in this lifetime.
But perhaps, I can be the one to steward it myself. Towards myself, towards those around me. Perhaps that’s what it actually takes; my willingness to see myself in the world, in both the violence + the care. My willingness to take responsibility for it, in ways that contribute to remembering my own humility. In ways that allow me to ACTUALLY allow me to become a Vessel for Love in this starving world, and not just the dream of it. Moving from “I wish” into “I WILL”.
I believe that is what is required, at least as a first step. And so I ask of you, dear friends, how can you be kinder to yourself? How can you bring balm to the places that are still hurting, still aching for tenderness? How can this actually create the conditions for healing + connection, within + around you?
Libra reminds us; there can never be enough love. More Love. Do it for Love.
