The Grus Justice Project has released the trailer for the upcoming film Silencing Detective Grus, produced in collaboration with Matador Films.This is a serious, compelling production designed to bring worldwide attention to the investigation of infant deaths in Ottawa by Helen Grus, a Detective with the Ottawa Police Service. According to the Grus Justice Project, Detective Grus uncovered a cluster of infant fatalities and pursued inquiries in cases where she was not formally assigned.In March 2025, a tribunal found Detective Grus guilty of “Discreditable Conduct” under the Police Services Act for initiating an “unauthorized project” and interfering in a case without proper approval.The film’s creators argue that this production isn’t simply about one remarkable case.
