I had a coach that would preach, “If you come to me with a complaint, you darn better have a solution” and what a life lesson that was. It did 2 things:
* it mitigated the classic complainer, they actually didn’t have a complaint, they just saw the negative
* it forced creative problem solving, a lot of introspection and by the time we were ready to head to the coach, the solution had presented itself and we could just act on it
Amazing what autonomy can look like isn’t it!?
Politics, household battles, community issues - if you aren’t part of the solution then you’re part of the problem, so if you have a complaint, see if you can be part of the solution or create a solution.
I look forward to the day the world starts solving more of their own problems rather than expecting “officials” to do all the solving for them. You have to be your own hero in much of life, so don that cape and get cracking!
