Let’s dive into the next powerful ayah from Surah Al-Mulk.
In ayah 2, Allah introduces us to the purpose of life and death—a test. Allah created life and death to see which of us excels in good deeds, showing that every moment in this life is a chance to prove our sincerity, patience, and gratitude. It’s a reminder to always strive for the best in everything we do.
Now, in ayah 3, Allah turns our attention to His creation. He says:
“Al-ladhi khalaqa al-samawati sab’a tibaqa”
“He is the One who created the seven heavens in layers.”
Let’s break this down. The “seven heavens” here refer to the layers of the skies above us—not Jannah (Paradise), but the samawat, the vast layers of the universe. Allah describes them as being stacked in perfect harmony, without any flaw or imperfection. And then He invites us to look up, to observe this creation. He says:
“You will not see any disparity in the creation of the Most Merciful.”
