While MAGA staged a political morality play about caravans and fences, the real breach of U.S. sovereignty happened in the feeds, algorithms, and fantasy politics that rewired a major party into a projection of foreign interests.
The essay traces three invading forces: Kremlin disinformation that midwifed Trump’s political persona; Elon Musk’s algorithmic empire that monetized civic instability; and the domestic fifth column — elites and institutions willing to surrender democratic agency for profit and spectacle.
The invasion wasn’t migration. It was manipulation. The border that failed wasn’t in Texas — it was the American mind.
