Cold Open Question of the Week: What’s the best gift you’ve ever given someone?

NEPA’s First Snow Fall: Tuesday was cancelled here in Northeastern PA thanks to 6 inches of the white powdery stuff. One of Brian’s Florida friends, not Gary, posted a meme regarding the pending snow.

Word of the Year: Oxford Dictionary named “rage bait” it’s word of the year. Last year Oxford chose “brain rot.”

Watch TheBrianLennonShow on Substack:

Mispellings: Brian’s starting to wonder if he has an undiagnosed speech impediment after an all-time misspelling of his last name. He also shares a story about ‘Dan.’

Baby Shortgage: 7 in 10 Americans say raising children is financially unaffordable, according to the Wall Street Journal, also noting, “Historians have long believed that having more children was a sign of confidence in the future.”

When did Americans lose confidence in the future, if that’s truly what led to the Great American Baby Shortage? Can you pinpoint an exact moment? Maybe there are multiple moments.

Essentialism: The term can also refer to the author Greg McKeown’s philosophy of “essentialism,” which is the disciplined pursuit of identifying and focusing only on the most vital activities and eliminating the rest.

The Sportswriter: Brian wrote a piece about Lane Kiffin this week for the Tailgators Setup on Substack. You can read it here:

Gary’s News of the Weird

Sponsored by Rapp Brewing Co.

Tonight: Rio de Janeiro palms blossom; raccoon drinks bottom shelf liquor.

Food Truck Schedule: Friday, December 5th Nino’s Pizza Truck 5-9 p.m.; December 6th 2 Chic’s Chili LLC 5-9 p.m.

RIP: Gino Stankosky, one of Brian’s former co-workers, passed away this Saturday. Gino was a fixture at the wine sampling table for years.

Brian’s neighbor’s boyfriend, Frank, 51, died of a heart attack.

Assage: Brian finds sophomoric humor in a (m)assage ad on Facebook and wonders what’s involved in a Hungarian facial.

So Bleu: Gary doesn’t eat sour cream, and Brian’s son doesn’t eat Bleu cheese, once he knows that’s what he’s eating.
