Seeds Have to Die
Scripture: John 12:20-26 (ESV)
In John 12:20-26, Jesus shares a profound truth: unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit. Jesus was preparing His disciples for the ultimate sacrifice—His own death, through which eternal life would spring forth.
This principle of letting go resonates deeply. Like the woman in the story who had to release a treasure to save her life, we too must let go of the things that bind us—our comforts, control, or safety. Jesus calls us to a radical life of surrender, where the seed of sacrifice brings forth abundant spiritual fruit.
What are you holding onto that’s keeping you from fully following Jesus? Just as a seed must die to bear fruit, we’re invited to let go, trust Him, and embrace the new life He offers.
💬 Challenge: Identify one thing holding you back from following Jesus. Pray and ask for the courage to surrender it today.
