It seems like acting is only about actors. It may also seem like acting is about “actors.” Aaron Marcus is a professional actor with more than 40 years of experience with various roles, from a lawyer, a doctor, a politician, and many more. He’s made more than 1300 bookings in his career. It may be hard for people to imagine what an acting career is. I asked him what an acting career is like for people or for him. His life experience.
He’s an actor at a train station in a film called “A Man Called Otto,” with Tom Hanks. I enjoyed the session with him so much. He opened up various stories that are fun to listen to. If you watch the scene, you’ll surely get very nervous. Very much indeed. He falls off the platform. For real. Of course, one of the curious parts was, “Did you actually fall off the platform?” The scene sounded very intense.
Aaron’s career may be somewhat different from actors or actresses in general. However, what he told me during our recording made me think a lot. To be honest, he played some roles that I’ve been aware of. The nonfiction stories or stories that exist in real.
Maybe because I was more focused on speech, it’s very different from acting. However, expression that is convincing or relatable to people’s imagination require a lot of effort of understandings from different perspective other than “just saying.” Performing arts, including speeches or recitation of a novel, requires expression in a way people are able to imagine in their own way while listening. However, acting is a lot of work.
Aaron is a very dedicated actor. He told me about what his life was like before finally deciding to be an actor. I won’t write in the introduction, because I want you to listen to his words on this podcast.
However, even though there’s a lot to say, failure is not the end of the world. In our real world, this is a very important lesson for all of us. We shouldn’t take things personally and move forward.
