Description

On this episode, I’m joined by Sheldon Fernandez. Born and raised in Vaughn, Ontario to Anglo-Indian parents, Sheldon had a mix of interests growing up with computers and athletics being the dominant themes. With a little nudge from his folks, he applied to the University of Waterloo and was accepted into the demanding Computer Engineering program. The university’s famous co-op program was instrumental in starting him on his entrepreneurial journey. This started in New York City, but he was adamant he wanted to have an impact in Canada. He came home and has been a part of building companies ever since, including the artificial intelligence company, Darwin AI. Additionally, he took a sabbatical to finish a Master’s in theology, volunteered in Nairobi, Kenya, and took creative writing at Oxford. We cover a wide range of topics from technology to philosophy.
