Listen

Description

Today I feel anxiety in my body. I can’t place my finger on any one thing, because it’s probably a combination of many many MANY things. I usually feel confidence in my decisions, but today not so much. My role in society seems to feel elusive. Things feel very floaty.

If you’re also feeling anxious, read or listen to this:

Wherever you are, I invite you to find a comfy position
Take your time in positioning your body in a way that feels supportive
Maybe place your hands by your sides or on your lap
Let your gaze settle and maybe close your eyes if that feels good
Take this moment and feel the air enter your nostrils
Feel your breath flow out of your mouth
Just following your breath
No need to push it any faster or slow

I invite you to see if placing your hands
On a part of your body with a bit of pressure
Might feel comforting
Maybe try placing a hand on your chest and the other on your stomach
Maybe your hands want to cup your face
Maybe one hand or both hands are behind your neck
Maybe a gentle self embrace might feel good
Wherever your hands want to be, start breathing into your hands
Allowing energy to move that's ready to move

Sometimes I imagine the energy that's ready to be released
Go down past my feet and into the earth
Honoring and thanking the indigenous land
That is living and grieving beneath me

Stay and breathe in this position as long as it's supportive

When you're ready, release your hands and let them rest
If it feels good, let's take three deeper breaths with an audible HA
In and out. In and out. In and out.

Settling back to where your breath wants to land
Extending grace and softness towards yourself in this moment

I invite you to bring some movement to your body
Stretch in a way that feels yummy
Flutter those eyelashes
And slowly orient yourself to your surroundings

Praying for a Free Palestine, Congo, and Sudan.
