In the first episode of Series 2, I talk about perfectionism - what it really is, where it comes from, and why doing something imperfectly and just starting might actually be one of the most powerful things we can do. I share my own experience of sitting on this podcast for over a year waiting for everything to feel ready, and explore the fears that keep us stuck, why clarity comes through doing rather than thinking, and how the act of starting is itself an act of becoming. If you're sitting on something you haven't started or taken action on yet, this one's for you.
We also explore understanding our ‘why’ for what we want to do, getting intentional about our time and how we use it, taking off the pressure of expectation or outcome and the value in taking baby steps. We look at how ‘should’s’ and ‘ought to’s’ can keep us stuck and how resistance and fear may sit behind our procrastination. And we look at what choices you really want to make to align your life with the person you want to become and the change you want to see.
The podcast is part of the Becoming the Change movement - for people who are getting to know themselves more deeply, exploring how to contribute to a more just and regenerative future, and looking for a more fulfilling, energising and easeful way of doing that. I hope this podcast can be a companion on your journey.
