I am joined with Psychologist Matthew Briglia where we discuss some of the challenges and rewards with being a psychologist as well as how compassion may be a better approach to helping people rather than empathy. We also talk about how capable the mind is to endure pain from both trauma and things like extreme sports. We touch on more mainstream psychology and it’s benefits and conclude no matter what the coping mechanism is- whether there’s no evidence, looks odd or isn’t typical if it works for you it works for you and there shouldn’t be any fear of judgement.
