Happy new year ONE MORE TIME for the people in the back (especially for Angelenos) because what the actual f*ck was THAT, January girl?? I dunno about you , but every day felt like getting clocked in the face by a jack-in-the-box.
To be completely honest, we planned on coming back to the stack sooner, but each time we hit the mic it felt off. We’ve been here before but at the same time we haven't. And while we watched plenty of other creators hustle onward, we did the opposite and slammed the breaks. Turns out our instincts were right, this month was going to be different…
Pause.

Before we Gitn2it, we just want to send love to all our readers and beyond who were affected by the LA fires. It really was one of the most devastating gut-wrenching disasters to observe. And while fires have become our new normal here, everyday felt like we were holding our breath for what was to come. One minute your power is out and you’re up checking in on friends and their animals, the next you’re figuring out how to rally more money into someone’s go-fund me, making sure our rooftops were properly hosed down, assembling an emergency fire kit in a panic, all while showing up to your work commitments trying to smile through the anxiety and panic. It’s in these moments you really begin to see who shows up, and what YOU are made of.
While there was plenty of darkness, we witnessed so much profound love in action, like people opening their doors to victims, donating literally everything to help others feel safe and comfy and you know, human. It reminded us how much we still believe in the power of community, CREATIVITY, and in the people to show up when it matters the most.
Besides censorship, planes falling from the sky and #CuteWinterBoots 🧊, we’re both finally feeling somewhat of a bit of reprieve and the wet weather is gifting us with a glimmer of hope that new life will soon be blossoming from the ashes. And I think in the midst of it all, we turned to our favorite artists to remind us- it’s not the time to be quiet and shy away. It’s time to lock tf in and stand our ground while we still have one. That said, NOTHING in Bing-bop-boom-boom-boom-bop-bam 2025 is stopping us from doing what we are meant to do - use our voice LOUDLY and believe in the healing power of art.
