Walking through the halls of #NVIDIA GTC 2025, it was impossible to ignore the buzz surrounding #HumanoidDeveloperDay. Attendees eagerly snapped selfies with the event signs, a testament to the growing excitement around humanoid robotics.

One of the key sessions of the day, "An Introduction to Building Humanoid Robots", featured a panel of NVIDIA experts, including Jim Fan, Principal Research Scientist / Senior Research Manager; Yuke Zhu, Principal Research Scientist / Senior Research Manager; Leela Karumbunathan, Sr. Hardware Product Manager; and Yan Chang, Sr. Engineering Manager. The session explored the components of NVIDIA's humanoid robot development platform, including:

* Robot foundation models for cognition and control

* Simulation frameworks built on NVIDIA Omniverse and Cosmos

* Data pipelines for synthetic data and environment generation

These elements together are designed to accelerate the development of humanoid robots across industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, and retail.

Beyond the sessions, I had a moment to witness Neo from 1x in action— mesmerizing crowds with his skills with a vacuum. People in the crowd- myself included- were pleading with Neo to come clean their houses next. The excitement around these robots is very real. Now, we are just waiting for the first humanoids to toddle into homes in late 2025.Stay tuned for more updates from #NVIDIAGTC2025!
