The song that made me realize I couldn't let D go

(00:00:05):

hello and welcome back to the curiosity chronicles i am your host taylor cecilia

(00:00:12):

brooke and with me today i am super super excited to have a very special guest my

(00:00:20):

very very wonderful sexy hot amazing fiancee d say hi d hey how's it going guys

(00:00:30):

I wanted to bring him on here today because I thought it would be really fun for

(00:00:34):

you guys to see kind of how just how our relationship flows.

(00:00:37):

Plus, he's had a really interesting life and I am always curious to learn more about him.

(00:00:42):

So first, I want you to kind of like introduce yourself.

(00:00:48):

I know everybody hates it when people say, tell me about yourself.

(00:00:51):

But,

(00:00:52):

you know,

(00:00:52):

for people who don't read my Substack at all and only listen to the podcast,

(00:00:56):

they probably have no idea who you are.

(00:00:57):

All right.

(00:01:00):

Well, my name is Devin, 30 years old.

(00:01:03):

I am a father.

(00:01:06):

To Iz, you're Iz's dad.

(00:01:09):

Yeah.

(00:01:10):

Yeah.

(00:01:10):

Iz is my kid.

(00:01:13):

Yep.

(00:01:14):

And, shoot, I mean, I'm a Marine Corps veteran.

(00:01:19):

What'd you do in the Marine Corps?

(00:01:21):

Oh, I was supply logistics for nine years.

(00:01:27):

You did way more than that.

(00:01:29):

Yes.

(00:01:30):

That's like just the tip of the iceberg of what you did.

(00:01:35):

Yeah.

(00:01:36):

Nine years, three different units.

(00:01:38):

First unit was 2nd Tank Battalion, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

(00:01:43):

Second unit was VMU-1 in Yuma, Arizona, a little bit in 29 Palms.

(00:01:49):

And then third unit was INI, being an inspector instructor at Evansburg PA Truck Company.

(00:01:58):

And somehow we never crossed paths because you were in that whole time.

(00:02:05):

Because you got out in... 2021.

(00:02:09):

Yeah.

(00:02:10):

So you just never crossed your path.

(00:02:14):

Nope.

(00:02:14):

That's super crazy.

(00:02:16):

So you're in the Marine Corps.

(00:02:18):

You're a dad.

(00:02:19):

And now what do you do?

(00:02:20):

Now I'm one of the managers over at Shields.

(00:02:24):

That's opening up in Tulsa.

(00:02:27):

No one knew that I lived in Tulsa.

(00:02:28):

No.

(00:02:30):

Well, no one still knew.

(00:02:32):

They just knew I worked in Tulsa.

(00:02:34):

Yeah, well, actually, it's not a big deal.

(00:02:36):

I don't give a shit.

(00:02:36):

You look at my name, you can see everything on me.

(00:02:38):

Okay.

(00:02:39):

Like,

(00:02:41):

I'm kind of just,

(00:02:42):

at this point,

(00:02:43):

the minute I put my book out there,

(00:02:46):

it's going to have your last name on it.

(00:02:47):

Yeah.

(00:02:49):

So it's like, the minute I put the book out there, everybody's going to know everything about me.

(00:02:53):

So it's like, you know, and Joey didn't care about having his name out there.

(00:02:59):

Yeah, I'm not too worried about it.

(00:03:01):

But so, yes, you work at Shields.

(00:03:04):

We live in Tulsa, unfortunately.

(00:03:07):

It's not all bad, but it's definitely not sunshine and rainbows.

(00:03:13):

And we would definitely like to be living somewhere else.

(00:03:16):

Agreed.

(00:03:17):

So, you know.

(00:03:20):

It is what it is.

(00:03:21):

We're both kind of, well, I'm stuck here.

(00:03:22):

He's not necessarily stuck here.

(00:03:24):

I'm stuck here.

(00:03:24):

I'm stuck here because you're stuck here.

(00:03:27):

Aw, you're so sweet.

(00:03:28):

That's just the truth of it.

(00:03:32):

Yeah, we're stuck here for four years.

(00:03:35):

No, 13 more years.

(00:03:36):

Holy shit, my kid got older.

(00:03:38):

I forgot about that.

(00:03:40):

Oh, yes, this is an episode featured...

(00:03:42):

With trees, we are having trees on here.

(00:03:44):

I don't know how Substack is with the legalities of all of that.

(00:03:48):

We are in a legal state, but I know I need to be careful because, you know, people are stupid.

(00:03:55):

So if you hear that coughing, any of that, that's what's happening over here.

(00:04:02):

We thought it would be fun for you guys to see us, like, honestly, properly in our truest forms.

(00:04:08):

Although I think our truest forms is probably when we're tripping on mushrooms.

(00:04:13):

Yeah, probably.

(00:04:16):

Fun fact, that's when he told me he loved me.

(00:04:20):

Yes.

(00:04:22):

His eyes literally looked like an anime character.

(00:04:25):

They were so huge.

(00:04:26):

He was like, I could literally see in his eyes.

(00:04:29):

He was like, oh, fuck.

(00:04:31):

Did I really just say that?

(00:04:32):

Because I wasn't divorced yet.

(00:04:35):

We were not going to have a relationship.

(00:04:38):

And we definitely had started to develop feelings.

(00:04:43):

Yeah, we were telling each other we loved each other, just not using those specific words.

(00:04:50):

Yeah, what did we say?

(00:04:51):

You mean so much to me.

(00:04:54):

You mean a lot to me.

(00:04:55):

What was the other one?

(00:04:57):

You make me happy.

(00:04:58):

Oh, yes.

(00:04:59):

You make me happy.

(00:05:00):

Oh, you make me so happy.

(00:05:01):

Yeah, which is not much different than I love you so much.

(00:05:05):

So fucking much.

(00:05:07):

Correct.

(00:05:07):

We just kept following that line.

(00:05:09):

But yeah, so our two, our two on themselves.

(00:05:12):

Now I will say that there's probably going to be a lot of digressions and I'm going

(00:05:15):

to try to be the best fiance and podcast host possible and not interrupt you too

(00:05:19):

many times when you're talking.

(00:05:22):

Oh, it's just giving them a view into the real world.

(00:05:27):

I just stuck my tongue out.

(00:05:28):

They interrupted me.

(00:05:31):

I was about to say the same thing.

(00:05:35):

literally did what you said i do oh my god it's like you know me just a bit just a

(00:05:41):

bit yeah okay so you work at shields you're in the marine corps you have a daughter

(00:05:48):

yes i mean technically you have two more now but i have a daughter and a daughter

(00:05:56):

and a daughter and a daughter yeah

(00:06:00):

And then we have our boys.

(00:06:02):

We have the two boys.

(00:06:03):

And Zussi is yours and Shepi is mine.

(00:06:06):

And now they're all yours.

(00:06:07):

I was going to say, they're both kind of mine now.

(00:06:09):

Yeah, fucking Shep just like straight up was like, oh, I don't know who you are anymore.

(00:06:17):

And just fell in love with Daddy.

(00:06:18):

It was ridiculous.

(00:06:19):

He is what Daddy's for.

(00:06:21):

He really is.

(00:06:22):

He doesn't even come close to smiling at me like the way he smiles at you.

(00:06:25):

I know.

(00:06:26):

And when I come home, he gets so excited.

(00:06:29):

I literally was talking to my therapist about that,

(00:06:32):

how like watching them really helps put in perspective like things that I can be

(00:06:36):

grateful for because they're so fucking thankful that you're just home petting them.

(00:06:41):

I know.

(00:06:42):

You should be more happy when I come home and pet you.

(00:06:46):

You should know that I am.

(00:06:49):

There's so many things I can't say right now.

(00:06:52):

Got to keep it semi.

(00:06:55):

Not.

(00:06:57):

Well, no, it's marked as 18 plus.

(00:07:00):

Yeah, so if you're under 18, fuck off.

(00:07:03):

Yeah, it's probably not a good idea for you to listen to this one.

(00:07:09):

But anyway, what were we talking about?

(00:07:12):

We were talking about... Okay, so we have the Dodgers.

(00:07:17):

Yes.

(00:07:17):

We have the boys.

(00:07:18):

Yes.

(00:07:19):

There you go, the two dogs.

(00:07:21):

Yes.

(00:07:23):

And... They're near 200 pounds of dog.

(00:07:25):

Yeah, for real.

(00:07:26):

That like to lay on top of us.

(00:07:28):

Yes.

(00:07:28):

Yeah.

(00:07:29):

And get more ankles.

(00:07:30):

Yes.

(00:07:31):

I can walk those, too, by myself.

(00:07:33):

Well, yeah.

(00:07:34):

They're well-behaved boys.

(00:07:36):

Yes.

(00:07:37):

Shep wasn't always well-behaved on a leash.

(00:07:39):

No.

(00:07:40):

He's doing a lot better all around.

(00:07:42):

Oh, yeah.

(00:07:43):

Motherfucker doesn't jump fences anymore.

(00:07:45):

I'm better than I was.

(00:07:47):

I know, for real.

(00:07:49):

You're probably going to start fucking barking.

(00:07:55):

Okay, so many think that it was Kara Allwell that introduced me to subject, but it wasn't.

(00:08:03):

It was actually you.

(00:08:05):

Yeah, I mean, it wasn't like a super detailed introduction.

(00:08:12):

It was just you were talking about writing.

(00:08:15):

And so it reminded me of the Joe Rogan podcast where the founder of Substack was on

(00:08:23):

there and talking about how he was really trying to make a platform for writers.

(00:08:30):

Yeah, that was the interview with Chris Best, I believe.

(00:08:34):

Yeah.

(00:08:34):

Cause I don't know if he's interviewed Hamish or not.

(00:08:37):

Um,

(00:08:38):

I don't know,

(00:08:40):

but that was actually the podcast that made me want to start my podcast like that

(00:08:45):

because I really enjoyed the way they talked with each other,

(00:08:49):

but he also brought up Chris brought up,

(00:08:53):

he's like,

(00:08:53):

no one really does this.

(00:08:55):

That was in their podcast.

(00:08:58):

So I thought that was, that's kind of what sparked this idea for all of this, but, okay.

(00:09:02):

Um,

(00:09:03):

So, yeah, it was you.

(00:09:04):

But why did you think it would be a good platform for me?

(00:09:07):

Oh, I mean, it just seems like they actually care about the writers more than just trying to make money.

(00:09:16):

Now, I mean, it's a business still, so I'm sure, you know, there is the business aspect of it.

(00:09:23):

But, I mean, it really seems like they care about the writers.

(00:09:27):

They're wanting to give people a platform to express themselves.

(00:09:33):

It seems pretty cool.

(00:09:35):

So I brought it up.

(00:09:38):

Well, I appreciate it because it has been a huge awakening for me.

(00:09:45):

Just all the doors that have started opening because of it.

(00:09:47):

I feel like that's just the link itself.

(00:09:51):

theme with my life with you.

(00:09:53):

All these doors just keep opening up, and it's like, oh, because I'm finally with the right person.

(00:09:57):

Yeah, I'm just passing along information.

(00:10:02):

You're the one putting in the work.

(00:10:03):

Yeah, but you're still passing it along.

(00:10:05):

Of course.

(00:10:06):

You're still listening to what I'm saying.

(00:10:08):

Always.

(00:10:09):

Yeah.

(00:10:10):

It's not always like that for other people.

(00:10:12):

Nah.

(00:10:14):

Or with other people.

(00:10:17):

Oh, I can't speak for them.

(00:10:19):

No.

(00:10:19):

I just try to do what I can.

(00:10:22):

You do.

(00:10:22):

You definitely do.

(00:10:25):

But you're divorced.

(00:10:26):

I am divorced.

(00:10:27):

Yes.

(00:10:28):

So we both are.

(00:10:29):

Correct.

(00:10:31):

And we both said we wouldn't ever get married again.

(00:10:33):

Also correct.

(00:10:35):

I tried.

(00:10:36):

Yes.

(00:10:37):

Yes, you did.

(00:10:38):

Ooh.

(00:10:41):

You should tell them how you proposed to me and why you chose Lynn.

(00:10:49):

Okay.

(00:10:50):

May is a big deal for us.

(00:10:51):

It's a big month for us for some reason.

(00:10:54):

Yeah.

(00:10:58):

What's that?

(00:11:02):

I don't even know where to start.

(00:11:04):

I mean, because I had planned it out quite a while ago.

(00:11:10):

Really?

(00:11:10):

Oh, yeah.

(00:11:12):

I asked Isabella and Lucy both ahead of time.

(00:11:16):

You asked Lucy?

(00:11:17):

And she kept a secret?

(00:11:18):

Yeah.

(00:11:19):

Oh, yeah.

(00:11:21):

She is Emma.

(00:11:26):

I'm so proud of her.

(00:11:27):

Yeah, that one I was worried about.

(00:11:30):

Because I don't like... You know... I think I just said it was a surprise, though.

(00:11:40):

I didn't say, like, don't tell your mom.

(00:11:42):

I said it was a surprise.

(00:11:43):

Yeah, and she's a really... She really...

(00:11:47):

Surprises are a big fucking deal to her.

(00:11:49):

Yeah, she loves them.

(00:11:50):

I know.

(00:11:51):

And it was.

(00:11:51):

It was a surprise.

(00:11:52):

It was a surprise.

(00:11:53):

I was so not expecting it.

(00:11:56):

Okay.

(00:11:57):

But anywho, so, yeah, talked to them, contemplated talking to your father.

(00:12:02):

Still kind of kicking myself that we didn't.

(00:12:04):

I didn't know about the Kansas cabin.

(00:12:06):

I would have freaking invited him out there or something.

(00:12:09):

That would have...

(00:12:11):

But, so, anywhoos.

(00:12:13):

So, we had our date.

(00:12:16):

You're going to have to remember.

(00:12:18):

The date we went paintballing.

(00:12:19):

Yes.

(00:12:20):

The date we went paintballing.

(00:12:21):

Yeah, we went and, because it was technically my date.

(00:12:23):

It was my date to plan.

(00:12:25):

Yep.

(00:12:26):

So, we went and got tacos.

(00:12:27):

Yeah, which were amazing.

(00:12:28):

They were amazing.

(00:12:29):

And then we went and paintballed, and I got fucking hammered on margaritas.

(00:12:34):

And hammered by paintballs.

(00:12:35):

By paintballs, yeah.

(00:12:37):

Yeah.

(00:12:38):

black and blue everywhere for a while made me regret you taking me paintballing

(00:12:46):

well i mean you know i knew that would happen i just sometimes it's hard for people

(00:12:52):

to grasp the concept of what happens when i make those choices yeah it was a little

(00:12:57):

crazy but but we went paintballing we had uh it was hot dogs and stuff right hot

(00:13:05):

dogs and hammers but i don't

(00:13:07):

I didn't eat anything.

(00:13:08):

Did you eat anything?

(00:13:09):

I can't remember if I ate anything.

(00:13:10):

I don't feel like you ate anything because you got food later, way later that night.

(00:13:15):

Yeah.

(00:13:16):

So, but you definitely partook in the margaritas.

(00:13:19):

Oh, yes.

(00:13:20):

Yes.

(00:13:20):

I think three.

(00:13:22):

Three.

(00:13:23):

And they were not like.

(00:13:24):

They were not bullcrap margaritas.

(00:13:26):

No.

(00:13:27):

No.

(00:13:27):

They were.

(00:13:28):

Fucking strong.

(00:13:30):

Why did I not say bullshit, but then I said fuck?

(00:13:34):

Can't help you with that one, hon.

(00:13:36):

Yeah.

(00:13:37):

You say fuck a lot on your podcast.

(00:13:38):

Oh, I know.

(00:13:40):

What?

(00:13:41):

You say fuck a lot, so it's okay if I say it.

(00:13:44):

Of fucking course.

(00:13:45):

Okay.

(00:13:46):

Anyways.

(00:13:47):

So, yeah, paintballing, margaritas.

(00:13:50):

Then I was worried that you were too drunk to propose to.

(00:13:57):

So what did you do?

(00:13:58):

I suggested we go get french fries because you love french fries.

(00:14:02):

And they do what?

(00:14:03):

Sober you up.

(00:14:04):

And he knew that.

(00:14:06):

Like...

(00:14:08):

It's just, like, he knew that about me.

(00:14:10):

And how many times have we gotten, like, drunk drunk together?

(00:14:14):

Not very many.

(00:14:15):

No, just a couple.

(00:14:17):

Yeah, and you still remember that.

(00:14:20):

You still knew that.

(00:14:21):

Yes, because I tried to pay attention to you.

(00:14:25):

I appreciate it.

(00:14:27):

Of course.

(00:14:28):

Okay, so we got French fries.

(00:14:31):

Yes.

(00:14:32):

Over strategically by where we were going.

(00:14:34):

But we had to come home first.

(00:14:39):

Because we had to give back Bauer.

(00:14:40):

That was the first time Bauer stayed with us.

(00:14:42):

Yes, so we had to give back a dollar bill.

(00:14:45):

Yeah.

(00:14:46):

And then we went to get french fries.

(00:14:50):

Right?

(00:14:52):

Or was french fries?

(00:14:52):

Yeah, it was after because we had the french fries when we got to the park.

(00:14:58):

Yes, yeah, we did.

(00:14:59):

That's right.

(00:14:59):

It was a park on a river.

(00:15:02):

Yes, there's a beautiful river walk.

(00:15:04):

And it was a perfect little setting.

(00:15:07):

Yeah.

(00:15:07):

It really was.

(00:15:08):

It was so nice that night.

(00:15:09):

It was, like, the sky was dark, dark.

(00:15:14):

The moon was so bright.

(00:15:16):

Yeah.

(00:15:17):

And there weren't very many lights on either.

(00:15:19):

Nope.

(00:15:19):

There were just a few lights, just enough to where you could really see.

(00:15:24):

And we walked down there.

(00:15:29):

There was a snake.

(00:15:30):

There was a snake.

(00:15:32):

I forgot about the snake.

(00:15:33):

Yeah, there was a snake.

(00:15:35):

I kind of chased it off.

(00:15:36):

You did?

(00:15:37):

Yeah.

(00:15:38):

And then somehow I got tangled in.

(00:15:41):

What was that?

(00:15:42):

Fishing line.

(00:15:42):

Yeah, you got tangled in that clear little fishing line.

(00:15:46):

I still don't know how it happened because I obviously never saw it.

(00:15:50):

Not that that's saying much because I'm, you know, night blind and I was definitely still drunk.

(00:15:57):

And so I got down on a knee to, you know, help you get out of the fishing line.

(00:16:05):

And then I pulled out a ring.

(00:16:08):

Yeah.

(00:16:09):

And I was not expecting that.

(00:16:13):

And I said what, which made you nervous.

(00:16:16):

Yeah.

(00:16:18):

Yeah.

(00:16:19):

I completely forgot everything I was going to say.

(00:16:22):

Yeah.

(00:16:24):

i think i just basically said i love you so fucking much will you marry me probably

(00:16:30):

i don't know i was so like my brain wasn't processing anything you could have said

(00:16:34):

a thousand things and i probably still wouldn't have processed any of it yeah

(00:16:38):

because i was just so like fucking over the moon that that this was actually

(00:16:45):

happening

(00:16:46):

Yeah, I was going to do a whole thing.

(00:16:49):

You make me feel like the luckiest man in the world.

(00:16:52):

I know you couldn't do this life without you.

(00:16:56):

You make me whole.

(00:16:57):

I feel like we've gone through this life before and another life.

(00:17:02):

It was a whole little thing in my head.

(00:17:06):

And as soon as I got down on one knee and I realized that that was the moment I was

(00:17:12):

going to do it,

(00:17:12):

my heart was beating so fast.

(00:17:15):

It did not help that I said, shut up.

(00:17:18):

Yeah, that's what you said.

(00:17:20):

Yeah.

(00:17:20):

And I was like, oh, that just threw everything off too.

(00:17:26):

Yeah.

(00:17:26):

Yeah, and I was 100% doing like a clueless shut up, like Valley Grill 101 right there.

(00:17:34):

Yeah.

(00:17:36):

But I was so drunk that everything was just like.

(00:17:39):

Yeah, you get very California girl when you're drunk.

(00:17:42):

I know, or when I'm super high.

(00:17:45):

Yeah, but only like certain ways.

(00:17:51):

Oh, interesting.

(00:17:52):

Like, yeah, it's more like, I don't, yeah, different consumptions.

(00:18:01):

You have kind of different reactions.

(00:18:03):

Oh, do tell.

(00:18:04):

I don't know how detailed I can go on here.

(00:18:07):

As detailed as you are.

(00:18:09):

Well, you said they're weird about that.

(00:18:11):

I don't know if they're... Oh.

(00:18:13):

Just use... So, like, when you're using the water pipe... Uh-huh.

(00:18:20):

It is very different than when you do the dabs versus when we chain smoke joints.

(00:18:26):

Yeah.

(00:18:27):

Or just hit the pen a bunch.

(00:18:29):

Yeah.

(00:18:30):

Like, your reactions are very different.

(00:18:33):

So, what...

(00:18:39):

Pen gets you air-heady.

(00:18:43):

And then joints, you wanted to either talk a ton or eat a ton.

(00:18:49):

I know.

(00:18:50):

I always want to eat a ton.

(00:18:53):

We literally had to make a rule that he has to help me enforce.

(00:18:59):

You literally did it last night.

(00:19:01):

Yeah, I didn't feel good about it.

(00:19:03):

No, and it's so... It was one of those moments... I feel like a pet from my fiancé.

(00:19:08):

No, it was... I'm telling you not to eat.

(00:19:11):

No, that's because you are... You're a good fiancé.

(00:19:14):

That's what I needed because I didn't need any food.

(00:19:19):

I did need the pickle juice, which was literally what I needed.

(00:19:24):

It was so perfect.

(00:19:27):

But...

(00:19:28):

I didn't actually need any food.

(00:19:29):

I wasn't actually hungry.

(00:19:30):

But...

(00:19:34):

And you remembered and you also remembered even when I say no or say I want it anyway,

(00:19:43):

you have to,

(00:19:44):

like,

(00:19:44):

stand strong because that's one of the things we've been trying to work on with

(00:19:47):

each other,

(00:19:48):

just,

(00:19:48):

like,

(00:19:49):

holding each other accountable because that's what real partners do.

(00:19:54):

Right.

(00:19:54):

We make...

(00:19:56):

Yeah, we make a lot of, you know, decisions while we're smoking.

(00:20:00):

And then when we're sober, we do not enforce them, even when sometimes we should.

(00:20:07):

Yeah.

(00:20:08):

We've been doing a lot better with that.

(00:20:09):

Oh, for sure.

(00:20:10):

It's still challenging with the whole food thing.

(00:20:13):

The food thing is the most challenging thing,

(00:20:15):

and it has been the most challenging thing probably for most of my adult life.

(00:20:19):

Right.

(00:20:21):

Like... Just knowing your history and everything, it makes it really...

(00:20:26):

It feels like a lot of weight on my shoulders when I tell you, like, don't eat.

(00:20:33):

Because I don't want you to, like, ever think that it's anything coming from me.

(00:20:39):

It's coming because you told me.

(00:20:41):

Yeah.

(00:20:42):

Okay.

(00:20:42):

So what's really interesting is all of a sudden it was,

(00:20:47):

like,

(00:20:48):

I obviously rewired this,

(00:20:50):

which is incredible.

(00:20:51):

But, like, you...

(00:20:56):

doing things that make me a better person, make me the person that I want to be, you know?

(00:21:01):

Like, you're holding me accountable because I want to be held accountable to who future Taylor is.

(00:21:08):

Like, the person she wants to be has to do those things to get to be that person.

(00:21:13):

And I don't get there by self-sabotaging myself,

(00:21:17):

which is literally just what I'm doing with all of those other things.

(00:21:21):

And drinking...

(00:21:25):

Like, tonight, I'm going to get pounded and we're done.

(00:21:29):

We're done.

(00:21:31):

Yeah, I think you want to get high one last time and then done.

(00:21:35):

I did quit for a month, though.

(00:21:39):

Correct.

(00:21:40):

No, I was just using that as an example because that's, like, a very common thing.

(00:21:44):

Yeah, I know.

(00:21:45):

No, you in no way are addicted to alcohol.

(00:21:49):

No, I actually, I was thinking about it.

(00:21:51):

I think it has to do with the carbonation.

(00:21:54):

Well, that's not good.

(00:21:55):

Go get a fuzzy water.

(00:21:58):

Yeah, I know.

(00:21:58):

I think it's because it's different than the fuzzy water and it's different from soda.

(00:22:04):

I don't know.

(00:22:07):

I think you like the effects of alcohol, too.

(00:22:10):

I mean, if we're being real.

(00:22:13):

It's probably because I'm not so afraid of throwing up anymore.

(00:22:15):

Yeah, and that allows you to enjoy alcohol more.

(00:22:19):

Yeah.

(00:22:20):

Yeah, I'm just with both of your parents drinking so much.

(00:22:24):

That's the only thing that gets me...

(00:22:27):

Yeah,

(00:22:27):

well,

(00:22:27):

exactly,

(00:22:28):

which is why I'm like,

(00:22:29):

okay,

(00:22:31):

I don't want to continually...

(00:22:34):

Plus,

(00:22:34):

didn't you get that lemonade for me?

(00:22:36):

I did, but you said you weren't going to drink it.

(00:22:38):

Not last night.

(00:22:39):

Maybe I'll drink it in the future.

(00:22:41):

Okay, that's fine, too.

(00:22:43):

Then I won't.

(00:22:45):

But anyway, what I was saying is, wow, huge digression.

(00:22:49):

Yeah.

(00:22:50):

What I was saying is you hold me accountable.

(00:22:57):

And I have never before had a partner that truly holds me accountable that isn't my female best friends.

(00:23:11):

And even then, like, you know, the main one.

(00:23:18):

so like she does but um I've never had the ability to be okay being held

(00:23:33):

accountable so that's the other aspect like it doesn't feel like a personal attack

(00:23:41):

because you're literally doing what I asked you to do

(00:23:44):

Yeah, we talked about it ahead of time.

(00:23:47):

Exactly.

(00:23:48):

And it's like, I know he's not doing it because you are wanting me to feel a certain way.

(00:23:56):

You're only doing it because that's literally what I told you to do.

(00:24:00):

Yeah.

(00:24:00):

So that was really cool just to start realizing a lot of that stuff.

(00:24:06):

Like the other night when I don't know what I did.

(00:24:08):

I did something.

(00:24:10):

And you're like, that wasn't cool.

(00:24:11):

I was like, oh, you're right.

(00:24:14):

I'll do that again.

(00:24:15):

I'm sorry.

(00:24:16):

And that was that.

(00:24:18):

Yeah.

(00:24:18):

And I said, thank you for pointing that out.

(00:24:21):

Which, a year ago, that would not have been the case.

(00:24:25):

No.

(00:24:26):

For me either, though.

(00:24:27):

Like, I think we're both getting better at communicating.

(00:24:31):

Ugh.

(00:24:31):

And by doing that, it prevents a lot of other drama and bullshit.

(00:24:38):

Like the fucking butter incident?

(00:24:40):

What was the butter incident?

(00:24:44):

You remember we had a whole fucking like multi-day fight over... Not a fight.

(00:24:49):

It was just like... It was a fight over how much better I put on the Pop-Tart.

(00:24:57):

It was not a fight because I was not aware.

(00:25:00):

Yeah, that's me.

(00:25:01):

I was not aware I did anything wrong.

(00:25:05):

So... I didn't know you called it a fight in your head even.

(00:25:11):

Yeah.

(00:25:13):

I mean, I was coming at you with a fist in my head, so... Right, I was just unaware of what I did wrong.

(00:25:19):

Yeah, and you didn't understand why I was so pissy.

(00:25:21):

Yeah.

(00:25:22):

I was just having a war.

(00:25:24):

Until this day, until right now, I didn't know it was multi-day.

(00:25:33):

Yeah, that sounds about right.

(00:25:35):

I think... I said something recently that, like, I thought I couldn't pretend...

(00:25:42):

And it's not that I couldn't pretend.

(00:25:44):

It's just that I spent most of my life living a pretend life in my head.

(00:25:52):

Because I was so wrapped up in everything internally.

(00:25:56):

And... I could literally make myself believe anything.

(00:26:02):

That's crazy.

(00:26:05):

Yeah.

(00:26:06):

I think almost literally.

(00:26:08):

Probably.

(00:26:08):

Probably.

(00:26:08):

So, like, having...

(00:26:13):

So you would just substitute reality with whatever you made up in your head?

(00:26:19):

Yeah.

(00:26:20):

Oh.

(00:26:20):

It wasn't always consciously.

(00:26:22):

Oh.

(00:26:23):

Yeah, that's the worst part.

(00:26:25):

No, I'm very aware of it now.

(00:26:27):

Because, like...

(00:26:30):

My brain every now and then still wants to go there.

(00:26:34):

But now I know.

(00:26:35):

So I'm like, no, we're not going to do that.

(00:26:37):

Yeah, you like stop yourself from like creating a false reality sort of thing.

(00:26:42):

Yeah, which just causes me to go insanely internal.

(00:26:45):

Because it's not a healthy false reality.

(00:26:48):

Yeah.

(00:26:49):

It's a very dysfunctional false reality.

(00:26:51):

That's so interesting.

(00:26:54):

Yeah.

(00:26:56):

There's so many things where...

(00:27:01):

I thought back on them and I was like,

(00:27:04):

oh,

(00:27:05):

they definitely were not doing what I thought they were doing.

(00:27:09):

Oh, it's the thing where you jump to conclusions, but you jump to the wrong conclusions.

(00:27:17):

Or I feel personally... I thought they were personally attacking me.

(00:27:21):

That's a huge one.

(00:27:23):

Yeah, all of that kind of stuff.

(00:27:24):

That's something we've run into a lot.

(00:27:26):

Oh, yeah.

(00:27:26):

Like,

(00:27:26):

it's...

(00:27:27):

Like,

(00:27:27):

this is recent that I'm finally,

(00:27:29):

like,

(00:27:29):

really...

(00:27:30):

Not the false reality stuff,

(00:27:32):

but,

(00:27:32):

like...

(00:27:32):

The jump into the...

(00:27:34):

Like,

(00:27:35):

they're attacking me versus they're just...

(00:27:37):

Exactly.

(00:27:38):

Because that's a multi-faceted trigger right there.

(00:27:41):

Like, there's, like, multiple reasons why I do that.

(00:27:43):

Right.

(00:27:44):

It's so...

(00:27:46):

But, yeah, it's really interesting that I am capable of doing that.

(00:27:55):

I now understand what my grandpa meant when he said that I have a very vibrant imagination.

(00:28:04):

Oh, it wasn't the compliment like he thought it was.

(00:28:08):

I think he meant it both ways because he did find the minds of sociopaths and psychopaths

(00:28:15):

fascinating and he worked with schizophrenia patients and bipolar patients so where

(00:28:21):

do you fit in there no OCD ah yeah with an overactive imagination because I'm a

(00:28:32):

girl and that's apparently what girls do yeah I mean you're not quite the typical

(00:28:39):

woman though ooh how so

(00:28:46):

That sounds so interesting.

(00:28:48):

I mean, I think just generally, like, you're a lot more outgoing and adventurous and open.

(00:29:02):

You don't seem to have a very closed-off mindset, except for when you're in certain moods.

(00:29:08):

You get into these stubborn little moods where...

(00:29:12):

Nothing no one says, nothing anyone says will change your mind.

(00:29:19):

But that's okay, because I think we all have that.

(00:29:26):

Oh, for sure.

(00:29:27):

I know I do that when I shut everything off.

(00:29:30):

Oh, yeah, you definitely have a lot of those.

(00:29:34):

Yeah.

(00:29:36):

But that's okay.

(00:29:36):

We've also learned that, like,

(00:29:39):

I think we've learned pretty well that there's a lot of topics,

(00:29:42):

not a lot of topics,

(00:29:43):

but there's a few key things that we don't quite see eye to eye on,

(00:29:48):

but that's okay.

(00:29:49):

We don't have to, it's nothing like.

(00:29:54):

Well,

(00:29:54):

yeah,

(00:29:54):

because I think it's like anything else,

(00:29:57):

you know,

(00:29:58):

like a little bit of difference is a good thing.

(00:30:04):

Yeah, for sure.

(00:30:05):

You know, just a jelly and jelly sandwich.

(00:30:09):

At least they should.

(00:30:11):

Peanut butter and jelly is where it's at.

(00:30:14):

Lou will eat a jelly sandwich.

(00:30:16):

I'm pretty sure I also could give her a mayonnaise sandwich.

(00:30:19):

She is 100% my kid.

(00:30:21):

She didn't like the sandwich I packed the other day at her lunch,

(00:30:23):

but she licked all the mayonnaise off the bread.

(00:30:24):

It is a ketchup sandwich, so.

(00:30:29):

I love that.

(00:30:30):

Yeah.

(00:30:31):

I think I knew that, because that's why she gets the hot dog bun, so she can do it.

(00:30:39):

They both did the corn dog thing.

(00:30:41):

Yeah.

(00:30:42):

That's so crazy.

(00:30:43):

So weird.

(00:30:47):

What's the purpose?

(00:30:48):

I don't know.

(00:30:48):

They're so funny.

(00:30:49):

And they're so funny when they're like,

(00:30:52):

conspiring together i know i love watching them like work together i know i can't

(00:30:59):

wait to watch them get older together it's gonna be so much fun yeah when and for

(00:31:04):

uh and for a time yes we are there is gonna be so much attitude in this house yeah

(00:31:13):

there already is i know i know it's already a lot

(00:31:22):

Like, every single thing Lou does right now comes with a sigh.

(00:31:28):

I know.

(00:31:30):

I'm like, what the fuck?

(00:31:32):

And she death looks me so good sometimes.

(00:31:36):

Oh, yeah.

(00:31:36):

She definitely got that one from me, too.

(00:31:38):

I know.

(00:31:38):

She gives me just the meanest, serious little looks.

(00:31:42):

And I'm like,

(00:31:43):

it's almost hilarious because it's like,

(00:31:45):

it's so mean,

(00:31:47):

but it's attached to such a little person.

(00:31:52):

I'm like, oh, no, you're going to beat me up.

(00:31:56):

I have.

(00:31:57):

There's a few pictures of her when she was,

(00:31:59):

like,

(00:31:59):

really little and then,

(00:32:01):

like,

(00:32:01):

around 18 months and two and a half of her making that face.

(00:32:04):

Yeah.

(00:32:05):

She's been able to make that mean mug from day one.

(00:32:08):

I wonder who she gets that from.

(00:32:12):

Me.

(00:32:12):

And do you know who I get it from?

(00:32:14):

Your mom?

(00:32:15):

Yeah.

(00:32:16):

Oh.

(00:32:18):

Well, luckily I don't think they're listening, so... No.

(00:32:22):

I mean, but she already knows I get my RBF from her.

(00:32:25):

Yeah, she has it rough.

(00:32:27):

Oh, she knows.

(00:32:28):

She's very aware.

(00:32:29):

I think she gave me a warning one time about it.

(00:32:33):

Really?

(00:32:34):

Yeah, I think she said something like, I know I look grumpy, but I'm not always grumpy or something.

(00:32:40):

I look angry, but I'm not always angry.

(00:32:43):

Yeah.

(00:32:44):

Yeah, yeah.

(00:32:45):

Her's...

(00:32:47):

I don't know if hers is worse than mine.

(00:32:49):

Oh, yeah.

(00:32:50):

Oh, okay.

(00:32:51):

Well, that's good to know.

(00:32:53):

I think that makes me feel a little bit better.

(00:32:56):

Oh, good.

(00:32:59):

So we are 33 minutes in.

(00:33:01):

Yes, we are.

(00:33:01):

How long are your podcasts normally?

(00:33:04):

Your videos are pretty short.

(00:33:07):

No.

(00:33:09):

So when I have people on, they've all been like...

(00:33:14):

around the first one was 40 minutes because we got cut off by zoom oh no yeah it

(00:33:20):

was super shitty i'm gonna have megan back on because i have some workarounds now

(00:33:27):

um and then yeah so like 40 minutes to an hour okay so it's up to you though oh

(00:33:35):

i'll go as long as you want i'm feeling great right now and i'm just rambling

(00:33:39):

that's what she said

(00:33:41):

Really?

(00:33:43):

I mean, you do make me ramble sometimes.

(00:33:45):

Okay.

(00:33:47):

Sometimes you do.

(00:33:48):

Yeah, you speak other languages sometimes.

(00:33:51):

Wait, was that English?

(00:33:55):

I would just keep going.

(00:33:59):

Yeah.

(00:34:01):

Wait, do I really?

(00:34:02):

Do you think all the things that you yell out are words?

(00:34:10):

Yeah.

(00:34:11):

Really?

(00:34:13):

I mean, unless I'm just yelling.

(00:34:15):

Because sometimes I'm just yelling.

(00:34:18):

Okay, yeah.

(00:34:19):

I'm probably talking about those sounds.

(00:34:20):

Okay.

(00:34:20):

You make different sounds.

(00:34:23):

Like, it's not English.

(00:34:28):

Yeah, it's been compared to Chewbacca before.

(00:34:31):

Ew.

(00:34:32):

I know.

(00:34:33):

It's not like Chewbacca at all.

(00:34:36):

No?

(00:34:37):

No.

(00:34:37):

What?

(00:34:38):

That's good.

(00:34:39):

What kind of Chewbacca?

(00:34:43):

At least not with me.

(00:34:45):

That's good.

(00:34:47):

That's very good.

(00:34:49):

Sometimes I feel like I sound like a cow.

(00:34:51):

No.

(00:34:53):

That's good.

(00:34:54):

Yeah.

(00:34:56):

I mean, an injured cat maybe, but not... Somehow that's so much better.

(00:35:02):

Oh, I know.

(00:35:03):

It's just a joke.

(00:35:07):

Interesting.

(00:35:09):

I mean,

(00:35:10):

I knew,

(00:35:10):

I will say that,

(00:35:11):

like,

(00:35:12):

you evoke things from me that have never been evoked in my entire life.

(00:35:17):

Ever.

(00:35:17):

So.

(00:35:17):

Yeah, that's right.

(00:35:19):

I love you so much.

(00:35:23):

I love you.

(00:35:29):

Okay.

(00:35:29):

So, there's two ways we could go with this next.

(00:35:32):

Okay.

(00:35:34):

We could go more on the relationship-y side, or we could go more on, like,

(00:35:42):

the conspiracy theories you believe side.

(00:35:44):

Oh, God.

(00:35:46):

Or, like, the future we want to build.

(00:35:51):

Or I can just ask you 20 questions.

(00:35:54):

Just ask me questions.

(00:35:55):

I think that'll probably get... Like, what is the purpose?

(00:36:01):

Like, what's your goal with this podcast?

(00:36:04):

To get to know people more, to learn more things, to have a space for people to...

(00:36:11):

I meant this one specifically.

(00:36:13):

Oh.

(00:36:13):

Sorry, I don't think we actually went over that.

(00:36:17):

Because I said it doesn't really, like, I just chat.

(00:36:20):

Like, there's never any, like, real agenda.

(00:36:25):

I kind of just let things.

(00:36:27):

Right, I understand that.

(00:36:29):

Like, that's, like, how it goes during the podcast.

(00:36:33):

Like, this has been literally us chilling.

(00:36:36):

Yeah, for sure.

(00:36:37):

In bed.

(00:36:37):

Yeah, we're literally in bed.

(00:36:39):

We are sitting up.

(00:36:40):

Yes.

(00:36:42):

I'm sitting up more now.

(00:36:43):

You are.

(00:36:45):

But, like, was the goal to get them to know me?

(00:36:49):

Was it to talk about our relationship?

(00:36:55):

Yes and no.

(00:36:56):

It was more, like, I'm open to all of that.

(00:36:59):

I just didn't know how comfortable and how much.

(00:37:04):

And, like, I don't want to, like,

(00:37:10):

four people out of their mind by us, like, being mushy-gushy over each other.

(00:37:16):

Well, here, just ask me 20 questions, and I'll do my best to answer them.

(00:37:21):

Okay.

(00:37:27):

And then, have you answered a bunch of questions about yourself on here?

(00:37:33):

I have not.

(00:37:34):

Okay, so ask away, and I will ask away.

(00:37:38):

Oh, I'm so excited about this.

(00:37:41):

Okay.

(00:37:46):

Given that you're colorblind, how does color impact the way you see life?

(00:37:59):

So that's a hard one because I've only known how I see things.

(00:38:07):

Yeah.

(00:38:08):

So to me,

(00:38:12):

I see all the colors that are there because I don't know,

(00:38:16):

like,

(00:38:18):

I don't think I could see differently,

(00:38:22):

you know,

(00:38:22):

like,

(00:38:23):

like what green is to me,

(00:38:26):

it's probably not green to you,

(00:38:28):

but that's all I've ever known.

(00:38:29):

Yeah.

(00:38:30):

That is green.

(00:38:31):

Does it, is it still as moving?

(00:38:33):

So like if someone's looking at something that's very like colorful or the colors like,

(00:38:38):

like in a painting,

(00:38:39):

is it the same for you?

(00:38:41):

I think it is to some extent.

(00:38:45):

Because, again, bright colors, I believe, are still bright colors to me.

(00:38:54):

It's just my max brightness, maybe it's lower than yours.

(00:38:59):

Probably, yeah.

(00:39:01):

But to me, when I see something that's crazy colorful or something, it's still...

(00:39:07):

colorful to me because that's all i've ever done yeah okay maybe i don't see all

(00:39:12):

the shades or all you know quite the same level of detail yeah like the difference

(00:39:18):

between sunshine yellow and butter yellow right a lot of those especially if

(00:39:23):

they're close to each other they all kind of mesh together um

(00:39:29):

But I can still see, you know, the yellow.

(00:39:32):

Or like when I see a sunset, it still looks very bright and vibrant and colorful.

(00:39:38):

Okay, that's what I was wondering.

(00:39:40):

It's probably just...

(00:39:43):

different yeah like i've never quite seen the sunset that has evoked crazy emotions

(00:39:53):

so maybe there's something there but you know and they have those they have those

(00:39:58):

glasses right right and i think the glasses you have to get like the lenses that

(00:40:06):

are for your specific version of color blindness oh i'm sure and there's a few

(00:40:10):

others

(00:40:12):

I know I'm red-green,

(00:40:13):

and I think it was like blue-yellow or purple-yellow,

(00:40:16):

but I would have to do their little quiz.

(00:40:20):

Because what do you see purple as?

(00:40:24):

I believe it's,

(00:40:25):

again,

(00:40:25):

it's purple to me,

(00:40:26):

but,

(00:40:27):

I mean,

(00:40:27):

you've seen it when I get,

(00:40:28):

like,

(00:40:29):

pink and purple confused.

(00:40:30):

That's true, yeah.

(00:40:31):

Like.

(00:40:32):

Yes.

(00:40:33):

So, to me, I guess.

(00:40:34):

Reds are really hard for you.

(00:40:36):

Yeah, reds and, like, red green is, I think, the main, the main.

(00:40:41):

Yeah, which is so interesting because you wear a lot of green shirts, but they look fantastic on you.

(00:40:45):

Yeah.

(00:40:47):

Yeah.

(00:40:47):

Is that why you wear a lot of green shirts?

(00:40:49):

I think it's just habit from the military.

(00:40:52):

Oh, yeah.

(00:40:52):

Okay.

(00:40:53):

That makes sense.

(00:40:55):

It's kind of the same color as my undershirts were, so I just feel comfortable wearing them.

(00:40:59):

Yeah, that makes sense.

(00:41:01):

That makes sense.

(00:41:02):

Those shirts are so soft.

(00:41:04):

Yeah, I am a creature of habit.

(00:41:07):

I mean, I'm the same way.

(00:41:09):

I wear the same thing.

(00:41:10):

Yeah.

(00:41:13):

If I'm not leaving the house, if I can get away with wearing a dress, I will.

(00:41:16):

Mm-hmm.

(00:41:17):

You know?

(00:41:17):

That is true.

(00:41:18):

Like, that was my preferred clothing option.

(00:41:24):

Yeah, I'd never wear dress.

(00:41:25):

Mm-hmm.

(00:41:26):

I just hate pants so much.

(00:41:28):

Unless they're workout pants.

(00:41:30):

And even then, like the workout leggings, I'm super picky on.

(00:41:35):

Like you are with your shorts.

(00:41:37):

Like your Under Armour shorts.

(00:41:39):

Oh, yeah.

(00:41:39):

I'm super picky about pants.

(00:41:42):

Because like the waistbands.

(00:41:45):

Oh, I know.

(00:41:45):

That's why half of them don't have waistbands.

(00:41:48):

Those are my pajama pants, which is almost worse.

(00:41:51):

Except for I really wish I could get like 20 more pairs of those.

(00:41:57):

orangey pinkish victoria's secret ones that i have oh yeah if i could get like 10

(00:42:03):

pairs of those and that's all i had it would be perfect literally perfect no i like

(00:42:08):

your little button up with the shorts oh yeah those are good too i've got a lot of

(00:42:14):

those now i know they're magical i was telling katie about that because god damn it

(00:42:22):

okay she's probably fine with it

(00:42:27):

And this is what happens when we just start talking about thinking.

(00:42:30):

Yeah, exactly.

(00:42:32):

Okay, so that's the colorblindness.

(00:42:34):

Question number two.

(00:42:35):

It's your turn to ask me a question.

(00:42:37):

Ooh, that's true.

(00:42:39):

Okay, so what has been your favorite part about being on Substack?

(00:42:49):

Oh, just the fucking people I've met.

(00:42:51):

Like, 100%.

(00:42:52):

I have so many friends now.

(00:42:56):

I literally... There's this one woman who literally feels...

(00:43:07):

so motherly to me.

(00:43:08):

Yeah.

(00:43:09):

In such a good and healthy and positive way.

(00:43:12):

And I'm so excited to interview her next week.

(00:43:15):

Oh, that's awesome.

(00:43:16):

Yeah.

(00:43:17):

But I just met some really, like, really fucking cool people.

(00:43:21):

And, like, Megan, that's how I met Megan.

(00:43:24):

And I swear we are related somehow.

(00:43:29):

Like, somehow.

(00:43:33):

It's crazy.

(00:43:34):

Because we are so similar.

(00:43:35):

Yeah.

(00:43:36):

She literally called me her favorite.

(00:43:38):

Called me her favorite.

(00:43:40):

I'm her favorite domestic hoe.

(00:43:44):

Because she had this whole thing about cauliflower and how she hates cutting it

(00:43:50):

because all the things go everywhere.

(00:43:52):

And I was like, I should have said professional domestic hoe.

(00:43:57):

But I said domestic hoe popping in.

(00:44:00):

Just cut off the stem and then you break it.

(00:44:04):

then it doesn't make a mess.

(00:44:07):

And she was like, how, how have I never thought about that?

(00:44:10):

I'm totally going to try that.

(00:44:12):

But yeah, it's just really cool.

(00:44:14):

The people, the people are really, it's amazing.

(00:44:18):

That's awesome.

(00:44:19):

I am so elevated right now.

(00:44:22):

Same.

(00:44:24):

Okay.

(00:44:24):

It's my turn, right?

(00:44:26):

Yes.

(00:44:27):

I don't think we're going to get to 20.

(00:44:29):

No, probably not.

(00:44:30):

That's okay.

(00:44:32):

We can talk as long as we want.

(00:44:33):

I can break it up into two episodes if we want to.

(00:44:36):

Okay.

(00:44:37):

Yeah.

(00:44:39):

It's probably going to be until I get hungry.

(00:44:41):

I'm cool with whatever.

(00:44:47):

Cuckoo.

(00:44:47):

All right, question number two.

(00:44:50):

Okay, question number two.

(00:44:56):

What has been your least favorite date we've been on?

(00:44:59):

Oh, I think I know the answer to this one.

(00:45:01):

That's a tough one.

(00:45:10):

That's a really tough one, actually.

(00:45:11):

What did you think it was?

(00:45:13):

The fucking night where I failed to plan basically anything and the whole date fell apart.

(00:45:20):

I almost don't count.

(00:45:23):

We just ended up at Nola's.

(00:45:24):

Yeah.

(00:45:25):

Which, by the way, if you're ever in Tulsa, you have to go to Nola's.

(00:45:28):

It's 100% one of the best restaurants I've ever eaten at.

(00:45:31):

And I've eaten at a lot of restaurants around the United States, Canada, and London.

(00:45:39):

Yeah, I mean, Nola's one of the top restaurants for sure.

(00:45:43):

Yeah, you've eaten at a lot of places too.

(00:45:45):

Yeah, I mean, I've eaten all along the East Coast and a little bit West Coast.

(00:45:51):

Like all the Southern West Coast.

(00:45:52):

Yeah.

(00:45:54):

Like, you got the real good Mexican food.

(00:45:56):

Oh, yeah.

(00:45:58):

You had really good Mexican.

(00:46:00):

Oh, I bet.

(00:46:00):

I bet the tortillas were on fire.

(00:46:02):

Oh, yeah.

(00:46:03):

And then the meat.

(00:46:05):

Oh, my God.

(00:46:06):

Oh, yeah.

(00:46:07):

And then the homemade sauces.

(00:46:09):

Like, they didn't make it anymore.

(00:46:11):

Yeah.

(00:46:12):

It was... I miss... There was this burrito place.

(00:46:18):

Literally, my mom contemplated...

(00:46:21):

sending my sister with a, like a dry ice cooler or something.

(00:46:24):

So she could bring back these burritos.

(00:46:26):

They're that good.

(00:46:27):

Oh yeah.

(00:46:28):

Yeah.

(00:46:29):

They're, they're just, oh my God.

(00:46:31):

question I didn't I don't think you know I asked you a question about what is your

(00:46:34):

least favorite date and you said oh it didn't count you didn't really count yeah I

(00:46:38):

don't really count that necessarily as like our dates because our dates are a lot

(00:46:42):

more planned out and you know well it was supposed to be because we did end up

(00:46:46):

going to the shooting range yes just a different day yes um so I would say least

(00:46:55):

favorite

(00:46:59):

That's a hard one.

(00:47:08):

I really enjoyed our date.

(00:47:10):

I know.

(00:47:11):

Me too.

(00:47:16):

The... Oh, no.

(00:47:18):

This one's easy.

(00:47:20):

It was the... OKC... Oh, yes!

(00:47:25):

It was the OKC...

(00:47:28):

The concert.

(00:47:29):

The concert.

(00:47:30):

The fucking concert.

(00:47:31):

Oh my god.

(00:47:32):

That was awful.

(00:47:33):

The whole thing.

(00:47:34):

It was like, what, like a hundred degrees that day?

(00:47:37):

It was so hot.

(00:47:40):

And humid.

(00:47:40):

And humid.

(00:47:41):

I chose to wear a skirt.

(00:47:43):

We were sitting on a lawn.

(00:47:44):

We didn't have chairs.

(00:47:49):

We did not prepare nearly enough.

(00:47:52):

No.

(00:47:52):

The music was not great.

(00:47:54):

No, it was because I bought the wrong tickets to the wrong concert, which is so frustrating.

(00:48:00):

That's totally a move you do, though.

(00:48:02):

Literally.

(00:48:03):

That's how I got locked out of the house the other day.

(00:48:07):

Like you said, spacey.

(00:48:09):

It happens when I'm sober, too.

(00:48:13):

It's very frustrating.

(00:48:15):

yeah so that i mean the ice cream almost salvaged it almost but it's still like we

(00:48:22):

let the concert like yeah if that if that it was like we didn't even stay for young

(00:48:30):

and the giant like because i didn't want to i was like i'm so hot this is not worth

(00:48:35):

it and like i got to hear talk perform the one song that i wanted to hear

(00:48:42):

And he's not best life.

(00:48:45):

I'm sorry if he somehow ever hears this.

(00:48:49):

He was probably going to get better because he's new.

(00:48:53):

And it was literally 100 fucking degrees outside.

(00:48:55):

It was so hot.

(00:48:58):

They were playing in the amphitheater.

(00:49:02):

Yeah, that was definitely the worst day.

(00:49:04):

Yeah.

(00:49:05):

Yeah.

(00:49:06):

Okay, your turn.

(00:49:07):

Okay.

(00:49:08):

Hmm.

(00:49:12):

Which direction do we want to go?

(00:49:15):

What was your most favorite date?

(00:49:19):

You stole my next question.

(00:49:21):

My most favorite date.

(00:49:22):

Probably the one where we got engaged, to be honest.

(00:49:25):

Okay, that's a good one.

(00:49:28):

Yeah, that's fair.

(00:49:29):

Yeah.

(00:49:30):

That was a good date, though.

(00:49:31):

It really was.

(00:49:32):

I had a lot of fun.

(00:49:33):

I think the most funnest, though.

(00:49:36):

The most funnest?

(00:49:37):

Yeah, the most funnest.

(00:49:39):

God.

(00:49:40):

God.

(00:49:47):

We've had some really, really fun dates.

(00:49:51):

I know.

(00:49:53):

Like, we've gone to the fucking comedy club and saw A.J.

(00:49:57):

Wilkerson.

(00:49:58):

I know, that one was pretty sick.

(00:50:01):

We... The go-karting?

(00:50:03):

The go-karting.

(00:50:05):

Oh, that might be... That might be, like...

(00:50:09):

The axe throwing was up there for me, too.

(00:50:12):

I know.

(00:50:12):

You definitely enjoyed that more than I did.

(00:50:18):

But I enjoyed how much you were enjoying it.

(00:50:21):

And it was still a lot of fun.

(00:50:24):

And it was like... I just leaned into being shitty.

(00:50:29):

Which works for me.

(00:50:31):

I kind of like that gig sometimes.

(00:50:32):

I think...

(00:50:33):

You did not lean into it because you got super grumpy because you weren't very good.

(00:50:38):

Did I?

(00:50:39):

Yeah.

(00:50:40):

That's on track, yeah.

(00:50:41):

Yeah, you're super competitive.

(00:50:43):

It's so frustrating because I suck at a lot of stuff.

(00:50:46):

Only, like, physical things.

(00:50:49):

Yeah, which is frustrating when your partner is good at physical things.

(00:50:54):

Like...

(00:50:59):

Yeah.

(00:51:00):

It's so frustrating.

(00:51:01):

Kind of just naturally good at it.

(00:51:03):

I know.

(00:51:04):

That's how I feel about the other stuff.

(00:51:06):

I'm naturally good at that.

(00:51:07):

The physical stuff, I am not, which is interesting because my dad is, but, oh, my mom's not.

(00:51:16):

Yeah.

(00:51:18):

I feel like you take after her quite a bit.

(00:51:20):

Yeah.

(00:51:22):

I did get my dad's hair, though, which is cool.

(00:51:25):

That's where I get the curly hair from.

(00:51:26):

Oh, that's cool.

(00:51:27):

Yeah.

(00:51:28):

My grandma's hair was so curly.

(00:51:30):

Okay, so I answered your question, right?

(00:51:34):

You did not.

(00:51:37):

You said the go-karting might be it, though.

(00:51:41):

Well, no, I said, oh, the most funnest, yeah.

(00:51:45):

The most funnest.

(00:51:51):

Yeah, probably the go-karting.

(00:51:54):

Okay.

(00:51:56):

i really want to go somewhere where we can go faster or have less people maybe yeah

(00:52:05):

we will definitely look into once the weather cools down a bit oh for sure yeah

(00:52:11):

would not be i literally like got a sunburn i think

(00:52:16):

When we were out there when it was hot that one time with all of your coworkers.

(00:52:20):

And it wasn't even that hot.

(00:52:21):

I know, exactly.

(00:52:22):

But they're just, like, sun suckers.

(00:52:27):

They really should put solar panels on those things.

(00:52:30):

Yeah.

(00:52:32):

I'm really surprised they haven't figured out how to make,

(00:52:34):

like,

(00:52:34):

paint that has,

(00:52:36):

like...

(00:52:37):

Solar panels in it?

(00:52:39):

Yeah, like, flecks.

(00:52:42):

I don't really figure out how to put fucking glitter in paint.

(00:52:45):

They put it in house paint now.

(00:52:47):

Glitter doesn't have any technology in it.

(00:52:49):

I know, but I think it's going to get there.

(00:52:55):

Yeah.

(00:52:56):

Roll on solar panels.

(00:52:58):

Maybe one day it will be a thing.

(00:53:00):

That would be so fucking cool.

(00:53:02):

We're officially at stone.

(00:53:06):

Yeah, we are.

(00:53:08):

I feel a little bit like Rick and Morty.

(00:53:10):

God, that would be a fun podcast.

(00:53:13):

Rick and Morty podcast.

(00:53:14):

Yeah.

(00:53:15):

Or even just getting to talk to the guys who do the voices of them.

(00:53:19):

I'm pretty sure it was, like, a pedophile.

(00:53:24):

No!

(00:53:25):

Yeah, I think that was the whole thing.

(00:53:28):

Lame!

(00:53:28):

Why are all the cool people pedos?

(00:53:30):

I don't know.

(00:53:32):

Because, like, that's what What's-His-Face was from... What's-His-Face.

(00:53:37):

Again, all the cool people are pedos, so you gotta be a little more specific.

(00:53:41):

Yeah.

(00:53:43):

I mean, that was Bill Cosby.

(00:53:44):

You forgot Bill Cosby?

(00:53:47):

No, I didn't forget about him.

(00:53:49):

How can you forget about him?

(00:53:50):

He tried to defend himself.

(00:53:53):

Very poorly.

(00:53:54):

I just don't know his name.

(00:53:57):

The guy from the ranch in that 70s show.

(00:54:00):

Oh, I know who you're talking about.

(00:54:03):

Yeah.

(00:54:04):

I don't know his name.

(00:54:07):

Okay, we should move on.

(00:54:09):

All right, is it your turn to ask a question?

(00:54:11):

I think so.

(00:54:11):

I think it's my turn to ask a question.

(00:54:13):

All right, I say we ask one more question and we call it because we're... One more each?

(00:54:19):

Yeah, one more each.

(00:54:19):

Okay, I like that idea.

(00:54:21):

I'm getting very hungry, so that's perfect.

(00:54:31):

Tell me everything that you can remember that made you fall in love with me.

(00:54:35):

Oh, goodness.

(00:54:38):

All right.

(00:54:39):

How long do you have?

(00:54:41):

All right.

(00:54:44):

So I'm going to get mushy.

(00:54:52):

I pretty much have to get mushy to answer this question.

(00:54:55):

I think that's fine.

(00:54:57):

As long as you're fine with it.

(00:54:58):

I'm fine with it.

(00:54:59):

Good.

(00:54:59):

You're cooking.

(00:55:01):

You're cooking.

(00:55:07):

all because the cinnamon rolls yeah the cinnamon rolls did it the cinnamon rolls I

(00:55:13):

brought him cinnamon rolls on Christmas day yeah I drove all the way to this house

(00:55:18):

to bring him cinnamon rolls yeah all the effort you put in like driving cinnamon

(00:55:25):

rolls out to make Christmas day like the way you make me feel when I'm with you

(00:55:36):

The sex.

(00:55:37):

Oh, my God.

(00:55:39):

Like, still mind-blowing.

(00:55:41):

Still mind-blowing.

(00:55:43):

Holy fucking shit.

(00:55:47):

I mean, it's just everything.

(00:55:48):

Like, you remembering little things for me.

(00:55:55):

You going out of your way to just...

(00:56:02):

like,

(00:56:03):

little things,

(00:56:04):

like,

(00:56:05):

you bring me lunch when I forget,

(00:56:07):

like,

(00:56:09):

you give me space when I need it,

(00:56:14):

you make me happy when I'm sad,

(00:56:16):

like,

(00:56:17):

there's really never a time that I don't want to talk to you or tell you,

(00:56:24):

like,

(00:56:25):

about everything or just exist with you,

(00:56:30):

like,

(00:56:33):

As long as I'm around you, I'm cool.

(00:56:35):

It doesn't really matter what we're doing.

(00:56:40):

Yeah.

(00:56:42):

I love you so fucking much.

(00:56:44):

I love you so fucking much.

(00:56:45):

You're right.

(00:56:48):

I feel very lucky to be yours.

(00:56:50):

I feel very lucky to be yours.

(00:56:53):

Okay.

(00:56:56):

Last question.

(00:56:57):

It's yours.

(00:56:57):

Yeah.

(00:56:58):

I feel like it has to be a really good question now.

(00:57:03):

What's your favorite color?

(00:57:07):

I'm just kidding.

(00:57:08):

I was like, that's obvious to literally everyone.

(00:57:10):

Yeah, that's true.

(00:57:13):

Okay.

(00:57:14):

It's pink, by the way.

(00:57:16):

Yeah, and like if you don't know, it's pink.

(00:57:18):

I'm literally wearing pink heart glasses right now.

(00:57:21):

Yes.

(00:57:22):

And I have hot pink nails and a pink watch and pink toes and a pink water bottle

(00:57:27):

and a pink crochet hook and a pink charging cord.

(00:57:31):

Yes, there's lots of pink.

(00:57:34):

You should feel bad for me because there's two little girls that live here as well.

(00:57:39):

But one of them loves turquoise, which is fucking fantastic.

(00:57:44):

Correct.

(00:57:44):

And pink.

(00:57:45):

And pink.

(00:57:46):

Because there's tons of pink everywhere.

(00:57:48):

There is tons of pink.

(00:57:48):

She also really likes purple.

(00:57:50):

I'm super outnumbered, guys.

(00:57:52):

Yeah.

(00:57:53):

Lou's favorite color changes on the rig.

(00:57:58):

We thought the color question wasn't going to be good.

(00:58:02):

No, ask me a real question.

(00:58:04):

Okay.

(00:58:07):

When did you realize you loved me?

(00:58:13):

When did I realize I loved you?

(00:58:15):

Correct.

(00:58:17):

Oh, no.

(00:58:17):

Let's see.

(00:58:18):

Good question.

(00:58:20):

Ooh.

(00:58:33):

I think...

(00:58:42):

I know the moment, I just don't know when it was.

(00:58:45):

When was the moment?

(00:58:48):

So I was driving, and I was listening to The Loneliest by Måneskin.

(00:59:02):

Okay.

(00:59:04):

And I just started crying because I was like,

(00:59:09):

This can't be him.

(00:59:10):

I can't.

(00:59:12):

No, this can't happen.

(00:59:13):

I can't.

(00:59:15):

I don't want that to be him.

(00:59:16):

I didn't want to have to let you go.

(00:59:21):

But eventually I was going to have to let you go.

(00:59:23):

Yeah, because you were married.

(00:59:26):

I was married and you did not know.

(00:59:29):

You did not know until I moved in with you because I'm kind of a fucked up person sometimes.

(00:59:36):

Yeah.

(00:59:37):

But...

(00:59:39):

I love you.

(00:59:41):

And I love where we're at.

(00:59:43):

Me too.

(00:59:45):

Good.

(00:59:45):

But, yeah, that was that.

(00:59:48):

And then Christmas came.

(00:59:53):

And I don't know what it was,

(00:59:57):

but you being alone,

(00:59:58):

not going anywhere,

(01:00:00):

not having any meal,

(01:00:02):

like,

(01:00:04):

that really bothered me.

(01:00:05):

I noticed that when you showed up.

(01:00:09):

When I didn't tell you.

(01:00:10):

And I also didn't tell you that I'd been making a blanket for you for, like, three months, I think.

(01:00:19):

Yeah.

(01:00:20):

I planned for that.

(01:00:21):

Like, sometimes my brain works.

(01:00:25):

Yeah, it's just crazy that you were making a blanket for three months for your booty call.

(01:00:34):

Yeah, that was when I realized I was like, oh.

(01:00:37):

This is so much more.

(01:00:39):

And I think the feelings all started to kick in after, like, when we went to go pick up your motorcycle.

(01:00:45):

That pretty much was my moment.

(01:00:51):

Yeah?

(01:00:51):

Yeah, three hours with you, just talking and listening to music.

(01:00:57):

And just, it was a beautiful day.

(01:01:03):

And then I got my motorcycle and rode it like two and a half hours home.

(01:01:10):

And then you still took the time to,

(01:01:12):

even though you needed to go get Iz,

(01:01:14):

you still took the time to give me my payment,

(01:01:20):

which required putting things in bags.

(01:01:24):

Yeah.

(01:01:24):

And you still took the time to do that.

(01:01:26):

Yeah, of course.

(01:01:28):

And I think we might have shared part of a joint.

(01:01:30):

Oh, for sure.

(01:01:31):

We always did.

(01:01:32):

We did.

(01:01:33):

We really... I don't think people realize how much of a pothead I am.

(01:01:38):

Oh my goodness.

(01:01:40):

Yeah.

(01:01:40):

Yeah.

(01:01:41):

It is... It is intense.

(01:01:46):

Yeah, not as intense as our sex, though.

(01:01:49):

No, not nearly there.

(01:01:52):

Okay, it's time for me to go eat, and I'm so excited because we're having sandwiches.

(01:01:58):

I'm weird, and I love sandwiches, and that is great, because you love sandwiches, which is also great.

(01:02:07):

I do.

(01:02:08):

Grandma's texting me.

(01:02:10):

Okay, that has been another episode of the Chaos, or the Curiosity Chronicles.

(01:02:17):

Jesus, there's too many Chronicles.

(01:02:19):

I'm going to have to get that shit together.

(01:02:21):

Thank you, babe, for joining us.

(01:02:25):

It was so much fun.

(01:02:26):

I always love talking with you.

(01:02:28):

Of course, baby.

(01:02:29):

Thank you for having me.

(01:02:31):

You're welcome.

(01:02:33):

And we, and I, will talk to you next time.
