Description

Hello sunshine,

I found a cobweb that inspired me this week, and I have not stopped thinking about it. In fact, it is where I am going to start this week, as we rejoin after a bit of space since my last post on wonder.

That last post was about the step beyond noticing, where curiosity lives. That is the space I have been in, getting curious with my intuition.

But first, the cobweb, and how it connected me through my intuition to where the conscious moment takes hold.

#jenmoments

Nature’s creations are the perfect combination of mastery and purpose.

Look at what a spider is up against. The wind comes through. The rain comes through. Something walks into it without looking. The web comes down, over and over, and none of that is unusual. That is just Tuesday.

And the spider builds it again by Wednesday morning.

Not a different structure. Not a lesser one. The same mastery, because the mastery does not live in the web. It lives in her. She is spinning the whole thing out of her own body, which means she has never once needed to go find the materials. And the purpose has not wavered either. She is not building for beauty or for anyone’s approval. She is feeding herself. The purpose is the plainest thing in the world and it has not changed once in hundreds of million of years.

The form comes down. The mastery and the purpose stay.

I needed to see that this week, and here is why.

The message arrived before the answer

The word wayfarer means one who travels. One who is on the way to somewhere.

And almost everything I write to you is about standing still in the moment. Standing still for the magic that blooms, the safe space in your journal where your inner voice is heard, the simple joy, the wider view beyond the path, and the belief that shows up before the proof does.

All of it is always about the pause. To be fully present. The minute you choose not to rush through. The thing you notice because you stopped long enough to see it. It is about the truest self you already are, being revealed rather than chased down. Not one word of that is about getting somewhere.

I have been signing a name to this work that promises a road through intention, and then handing you a place to be consciously still.

As a writer, I know this is actually the creative space that is not quite all sorted out. I consciously chose to start writing again on Substack because it does not have to be all figured out in this digital world. The Conscious Wayfarer evolved from Create the Space for Living as a refreshed and expanded way to show up to share my #jenmoments, creative living rituals and journaling practices.

So, here is the part I actually want you to see. The gift of creativity is the evolution of your art. Take the everyday creativity of making an omelette. I am sure your approach or ingredients have evolved over the years since you were first taught how to make one. And just like living creativity each day, the art form of creative expression also needs the space to evolve.

That is why I show up here today to share not only the answer to the message, but the understanding that the voice does not always arrive with the answer.

It showed up as a gut feeling first. Not an argument, not a conclusion. A quiet voice that arrived long before I had any language for it, and long before I could see where it was leading.

That is the uncomfortable part. Not doubt, exactly. More that I could tell something was true about The Conscious Wayfarer, but I could not yet tell if it really embodied my intention for sharing. There I was with this gut feeling, but there was nothing to act on. Nothing to decide. Just a message without a destination.

This is where I think a lot of us let it go when our inner voice doesn’t arrive with the answer. Not because we do not believe the voice, but because we cannot place it yet, and a thing you cannot place is very easy to set down.

So this time, I did the opposite. I carried this feeling around unfinished. I let it be true before I knew what to do about it.

Then I gave it space

I did not force a replacement. I did not sit down with a list and try to solve it.

I gave it space, which is the whole practice. Then I went looking where I always tell you to look, at what you are already doing.

It turned out the word I needed was not new at all. It has been in my hands since 2015. It is the thread that connects through many of my creations and journaling rituals.

Like the spider, I already had the material. I was spinning it out of myself and calling it something else. They say the answer is always inside of you. The conscious step is to find the connection to your inner voice and ask for the clarity you seek.

My answer was clear as day this week. I welcome the evolution of The Conscious Wayfarer.

What’s next?

You are probably wondering what the new name is.

Well for one more week, until the new moon and eclipse, that’s just between me and the universe. I love that quiet space.

What I will tell you is this. Nothing here changes for you. These letters keep coming, they stay free, and the moments keep showing up. My companion Substack, The Moonbeam Journey, goes on exactly as it is, in its own place.

The web comes down. The creative mastery and the purpose stay.

And Wayfarer is not being discarded. It carried me here, and it carried you here, and a word that does that returns to the creative ether for someone else to find.

Some of you have been walking with me since the very first Substack post. You are the reason I chose to let the message evolve into the answer.

My journaling practice for you

Take these to the page this week, slowly, and let the pen go before you know the answer.

* Where in my life am I rebuilding the same thing again, and is the rebuilding actually solving the problem I think it is?

* What is the quiet feeling I have been talking myself out of, and what reason have I been giving myself for ignoring it?

* If the form of something I have built came down tomorrow, what would still be mine? What is the mastery that does not live in the structure?

* What answers have I gone looking for outside of me?

Write down these questions as specific “asks” to your inner guide and gently open your heart to the answer. The voice always responds in love and kindness.

Infinite gratitude for the space before the answer

Thank you for being here, curious and open and willing to let something stay unfinished a while longer. That willingness is the whole practice.

Shall we trust the voice that arrives before the answer, and give it the space it needs, together?

Yes, yes we shall.

With love we shine,

Jen Granger
