In light of the recent NBA draft that took place last week, MJ talks about what happens after we’ve been drafted onto God’s very own team, The Unshakable Kingdom. The only difference between getting drafted by the NBA, there is nothing that we can do in our own strength and performance that will land us a spot on God’s team of faithful endurance. It is only through grace that we have the opportunity to live a life by faith in our Source, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
And although performance is not needed to please God, we must have faith in the work of God in our lives… and that work includes discipline. Whew. We hate that word, don’t we. But it is necessary and an act of God’s love for us, His children.
In this episode, MJ gives us 5 different things we must trust in order to endure through our suffering. When we change our perspective to see our pain and difficulty and hardships as the road that will prepare us for the promise, we will learn how to suffer better and to never lose trust and focus in our God who will make that promise a reality for us — the way Hebrew says it, God will pay back everything that we’ve lost through the process.
Think of faith like a muscle that is going through weight training and is broken down. With the proper fuel and recovery, it will grow to be bigger and stronger than it was before. Consistency in that breakdown allows for continuous growth. Allow God to grow your faith so that it becomes as big as the immovable mustard tree — a peaceful fruit of righteousness in that He will forever be pleased.
