Description

In this episode, we take a deep dive into the story of the man born blind in John 9, using it as a lens to explore how faith requires both trust and action. We begin by looking at the concept of light—how it was present at the beginning of creation but was cut off due to sin, leaving humanity in spiritual darkness. Yet, Jesus, the Light of the World (John 8:12), came to restore that light, not just physically but spiritually, illuminating the path to true life.

When the disciples asked Jesus why the man was born blind, He redirected the focus from blame to purpose: “this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him” (John 9:3). We break down how God doesn’t always give immediate answers but calls us to trust Him in the unknown. Adam and Eve in Genesis 3 failed to do this, seeking their own understanding instead of God’s wisdom, as did Sarai in Genesis 16, when she took matters into her own hands. The blind man, however, responded in faith—without fully knowing what Jesus was doing, he obeyed the command to go and wash in the pool of Siloam.

After the blind man’s healing, he faced opposition from the Pharisees, who, though physically able to see, were spiritually blind. They refused to acknowledge Jesus as the Messiah, clinging to their legalistic understanding rather than the truth standing right before them. Meanwhile, the healed man’s journey led him to something even greater than physical sight—he encountered Jesus personally. When Jesus revealed Himself as the Son of Man, the man responded in worship, stepping into full spiritual sight (John 9:35-38).

We close with a powerful reminder that Jesus is the exact expression of God’s nature (Hebrews 1:3) and the image of the invisible God(Colossians 1:15). To see Jesus is to see God, and when we seek Him with our whole heart, He reveals Himself to us.

Key Takeaways:

• Faith requires action—God calls us to move before we fully understand.

• Obedience opens the door to experiencing God’s power and presence.

• Jesus is the Light, restoring what sin has darkened in our lives.

• Spiritual blindness is more dangerous than physical blindness—will we choose to see?

Where is God asking you to take a step of faith today? What is He calling you to do, even when the path isn’t clear? This episode challenges us to move in faith, trusting that His light will always guide the way.
