I know that might sound shocking to some. But in truth, this is, and has always been, about the top 1% vs the rest of us 99%. This is no longer about left vs right. It’s about economic injustice by the few against the many. And understand this point—this is not a new strategy. Rather, this is how this nation enabled genocide and slavery, how it enabled Jim Crow, and how it is enabling division through the Southern Strategy, mass incarceration, war on drugs, and militarization of our law enforcement and ICE.
The atrocities change, but the power structure remains the same.
A power structure to maintain an economic hierarchy where the super wealthy avoid taxes and accountability, and working class people live paycheck to paycheck in a nation with the highest per capita prison population in the world. It does not have to be this way.
As corporate media continues to capitulate, we need new mediums of communication to ensure accurate, authentic, fact based analysis of these critical issues that impact us all.
