Description

Have you ever wondered if you would be happier if you were born in a different country with more or less of [fill in the blank]? The grass always seems greener on the other side… of the globe. 🌍

It would be impossible for Brian and me not to talk about traveling; it brings us both so much joy and a perspective that forces us to reflect… and, you guessed it, choose joy.

In this episode, you will learn about:

* Concepts from around the world that can’t be translated into English, such as hygge, fika, gezellig, and ikigai.

* My favorite golden nuggets from the book The Geography of Bliss by Eric Weiner (I highly recommend it - Julia).

* Festivals that bring joy in the USA, the Netherlands, and Thailand.

* Hofstede's Cultural Dimensions Theory.

For this week’s task, we encourage you to make a list of events and festivals you could attend this summer. Invite your friends and start planning the trip.

Joy is multiplied when shared, and festivals are the perfect chance to do that!

Thanks for watching and listening! INJOY

All the best,

Brian & Julia

PS. You can dive into the concept of Ikigai in Episode 2 and hear Mayu from Japan explain what it's all about.
