Let’s talk about intimacy. Intimacy with self and intimacy with other because. Intimacy is essential if you want to reclaim your sovereignty and be in your power.
In Episode 3 of the Soul Sovereignty & Sexuality Podcast, I talk about what creates intimacy with another person is similar to what creates intimacy with yourself. Instead of running away from a thought you don’t like, face it. Get to the root of it. Do the work to shift the underlying belief system so you can align to your soul’s truth.
If you prefer to avoid the feelings within you that you don’t like, they’re not going to go away. Rather, they’re going to build up and create resentment and bitterness or fatigue and sorrow until you turn toward them.
When you silence your truth in an effort to avoid making someone upset, for example, you turn away from yourself (rather than toward yourself).
When you avoid yourself to avoid “what you don’t like,” you’re avoiding intimacy.
This creates separation, disconnection, and tension within yourself (as the same thing does in relationship to another).
The only way to remove that barrier is by opening your heart what is. Looking at it. Spending time with it. Letting it inform you so you can receive its wisdom. The closer you come into connection with them, the easier it is to pull your power back and remain anchored in who you truly are. You are the one in power, not your thoughts, not your feelings, not your fears. You. Own it.
