Dr. Brent Jackson practiced as a general surgeon for 15 years until he hit a brick wall of burnout and realized he couldn’t practice clinically anymore. Fueled by his own experience of burnout he decided to work his way up to a Chief Medical Officer role so he could positively impact physicians who were still practicing medicine.
Now he works as a CMO for Dignity Health/ Mercy General Hospital where his mission is to support physicians to prevent them from going down the same path of burnout that he experienced.
Listen to this week’s episode as Chelsea and Brent discuss his transition from general surgeon to CMO, the best way of getting into hospital administration, the benefits of practicing self care and meditation, taking a step back to acknowledge all of your achievements and so much more.
