Sometimes, the freeze comes right after the fire. You’re lit up. Inspired. You can see your next steps so clearly…And then—nothing.
Our shadow self—the part of us carrying old fears and unprocessed grief—often steps in right when we’re ready to leap. It’s not there to ruin us. It’s there to shield us from a pain we still don’t know how to hold. The trouble is, that protection can look a lot like procrastination, perfectionism, or paralysis.
This week, I talk about tracing my own shadow back to childhood losses, realizing it wasn’t my enemy—it was my bodyguard. By asking, “What are you trying to protect me from?” I’ve been able to move forward with all of me—not just the bold, eager parts.
This isn’t a fight against yourself. Rather it’s an invitation to bring every part of you to the table. When you do, the work feels less like a battle and more like a conversation.

Key Takeaways:
* Stuckness can be your brain’s safety system, not a sign you’re broken.
* Shadows carry the memory of past pain—even if your conscious mind has moved on.
* Asking your shadow what it’s protecting you from can open doors to healing.
* Integration beats opposition—move forward with all of you.
Listen in if you’ve ever:
* Felt momentum stall for “no reason”
* Wanted to understand the link between fear, safety, and stuckness
* Needed a gentler way to move through your shadow work
