Featured letter:

Recently, I met a guy at a social gathering. I liked him initially because he had a sense of humor and was easy to talk to. I asked him out and he was eager to meet. However, after two dates, I've come to the conclusion that we don't have much in common. The problem is that on our second date he seemed to really take a shine to me. Maybe it was the eye liner and lipstick I put on...who knows?! This isn't the first time this has happened to me - - that a man starts to fall for me without really knowing anything about me other than I'm a good listener and friendly. Ok, that's a slight exaggeration but not by much. I'm in a place where I would like to meet someone but I want to take it slow and develop a friendship first. How do I express this to men I meet socially or through a dating profile without sounding aloof or jerky? Many thanks in advance for considering my letter.
