Since the end of the Cold War, U.S. politicians have convinced the American people that perpetual war is the price for spreading “democracy” and making us safe at home.

Among the biggest supporters for endless wars has been Kentucky Senator Mitch McConnell. Well, now he’s retiring, and based on is farewell speech, frustration with the GOP’s growing anti-war positions may be part of his reason.

But how much “democracy” have we spread abroad?

How much hatred has U.S. occupation inflamed?

And how has this made America safer and more prosperous?
