* The Prayer of Confession was written by Joan S. Gray. Joan S. Gray was the first woman ordained by Atlanta Presbytery (PCUS) in 1978. She has served as pastor of many churches in Atlanta, GA, taught at Columbia Theological Seminary, and was elected Moderator of the 217th General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 2006. She has published books on church leadership, including the one from which this prayer is adapted, Sailboat Church: Helping Your Church Rethink Its Mission and Practice.)

* The song of Confession is written by our own Kenneth Jones and the Assurance of Pardon song was “Give Thanks” by Henry Smith.

* Our transitional hymn was “Know That God is Good” (Mungu ni mwema) and comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo, arranged by Edo Bumba

* The Musical Special was “Be Thou My Vision” Arranged by Skip Stradtman, and performed by the Chancel Choir

* The Prayer of Illumination was written by William Plumer Jacobs, who was pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, SC. He founded Thornwell Orphanage for children who lost their parents in the Civil War and then founded Presbyterian College to provide a college education for those children.)

* Our scripture was Genesis 12:1-8 and came from the New Revised Standard Version, Copyright 1989, Division of Christian Education of the National Council of Churches of Christ in the U.S.A. Used by permission, all rights reserved.

* Our Affirmation of Faith came from Joseph M. Gettys, who was as Presbyterian minister who served as professor of religion and academic dean at Presbyterian College from 1956-1974. He was the interim pastor of 37 churches and the founding pastor of two churches. He was the author of numerous Bible studies and books about the Presbyterian Church, including a summary of the Westminster Standards, from which this affirmation of faith is drawn.

* The Prayers of the People was led by Dana Tate

* The Benediction Song was “Now Go In Joy” a Caribbean Folk Melody arranged by Jorge Lockward
